We ordered drinks, both steak dinners- was hoping to have a nice date night. My partner had a New York strip, it was cooked fine for his liking. I ordered the sirloin, medium rare. It came to me the first time well done, barely even bleeding, I’ve cooked and ordered many steaks in my life, I asked for another one the picture below is the second one I got, it smelt like it was microwaved- and then when I said I wasn’t going to eat it I was told I have to pay for it – for sake of the argument we did. I was beyond livid and not impressed at all. Anyone who knows how to cook or owns a restaurant could tell me that is not a medium rare steak. For the prices you are expected to pay I expect a steak to be cooked the way I want it to be. The menu was also lacking, they didn’t have a lot of what was advertised on it, you had to pay extra for simple steak seasoning- not the best experience and will not be returning

Very relaxing atmosphere with great service. Excellent food.
We went to a cabin the weekend before Valentines day and knew very little about the area. Taking a stab in the dark, we decided on this place. During the meal and afterwards, we were glad we did. The food was delicious! Will definitely make those our go to place when in the area.

Ordered a half pound burger and when it arrived I requested ketchup and mustard, which never arrived. We found ketchup on another table but after adding it to the burger it couldn’t help the shoe leather they called a hamburger. The rest of our party did not complain but no one ate even a quarter of their dinner. I can see why that place is for sale.

Solid staff, great food, and good value. I had the Philly cheesesteak with steak fries and homemade ranch and a long island for $24, and the quality was better than I expected. The locals there really liked their Saturday prime rob special and chicken cordon bleu sandwich. They even have $1 drinks of whatever is left of unique drinks. Will come back again.

What a great place to eat and enjoy the nice atmosphere at Lake Metigoshe. Their food and service is top notch! The owners are wonderful and their staff is friendly. Definitely put this steakhouse/lounge on your list.

Have been here many times in the past & great food..new owners need to make changes for the better. The grilled shrimp was always full w the shells & feet. What I got the other nite was walmart frozen shrimp. Very disappointing for the $ we spent. No pizzas anymore either.

New ownership needs to get off on a better foot. Our waitress mixed up an order – steak was not at all as ordered and no one offered to make it right. People are not going to put up w that. They shld have offered a new steak or not charged her. 3 out of 6 sent hash browns back that came out cold. You are new, but if you get it wrong too often the Birchwood will fold and the lake cannot afford to let that happen. The bartender seemed interested in trying. I go there for steamed shrimp & they were out.

Service was unfriendly, manager/owner like lady was very rude and short with us and she was also touching food in the kitchen without gloves, food was pretty bland and dry, and the chairs… well i think a fence would be more comfortable to sit on. And if you are worried about social distancing right now not the place to go. Not a place I would return too sorry.

Avoid the Sunday brunch. Low quality Buffett with very limited choices. Powdered eggs out if a crock pot with nearly meatless bacon and biscuits and gravy. No potatoes? I was very disappointed. Also, I sat under an air conditioner offering a cool mist slowly covering me, my table and my food with condensation. I thought the table was wet because it had just been cleaned. Not so.
