I’ve been going to this place for decades since I was little girl, the food was great close to home. The ladies were nice and I would go there every year for my birthday since I would live far from Freeport. but for the last 2 years the food changed I would find hair and recently I found hair again and small stainless steel on all of my mofongo. My 2 year old son was chewing on something plastic that was in the white rice thank god he spit it out but that was it for me. I would tell the server and she would laugh in my face like it was funny. Never going back there again

After passing by many times, finally decided to give it a try today. Really glad I did .
Amazing rotisserie chicken. Some of the best I’ve tasted. Texture & skin roasted to perfection!
Rice & beans just right. Even came with a side salad. All this goodness for $10.35? MADNESS . The portions are huge and 1 order can easily feed 2 people unless you are a linebacker or famished cyclist like myself .
I vote this for BEST VALUE in Freeport. Took my lunch to BREW SA and downed it with a Cherry wheat beer . 10/29/23 update. The oxtail is pretty great . $20 can feed 2. I’ve had this 8 times now
Feb 2024: it only gets better. Come before 2 pm otherwise the oxtail will sell out. But not before 11 am, it needs time to get tenderized
May 2025:
Still awesome

It’s the closet to home . I went in with my family. My daughter ordered Cuban sandwich and sadly the ham was cheap deli ham . I ordered breaded steak . It was tasteless and the bread crumb was falling apart from steak . I asked about it and they used tasteless flour. The staff are very nice and provided great service. We won’t be back ..

We’ve been going to El Sabor Dominicano for decades. This establishment constantly delivers great food and service.
If you’re looking for a nice, friendly Dominican Restaurant that’s not hit or miss and constantly delivers, here’s one.

Decided to go here for lunch. I ordered the 1/2 pollo al horno (1/2 chicken or fried chicken) for 11.49. Not only did you get a 1/2 chicken, but it came with a small pan of white rice , a small cup of beans, and a small salad. A great amount of food for the price. In addition, I ordered two slices of cake (carrot cake and red velvet) for $5 each. In total, I paid about $24.
The meal was okay. The chicken was not moist, just dry. In addition, the cake was ok.
There is a dine in option available.

Picked up a small pernil/roast pork lunch special with yellow rice and red beans. The food was delicious. It was$13.50 for the lunch special. Only thing was they didn’t have any homemade fresh garlic sauce. Other than good service, good food.

Wish I could give 0 stars. Came here for a simple side order of plantains and was met with extreme racism. Not a single hello when I walked in, but greeted every patron after me. After saying thank you when I received my food, the woman rolled her eyes as she failed to make eye contact with me and mumbled “you’re welcome”. Will not be returning.

Walking down Freeport and browsing until we came across a Dominican restaurant which caught our eye, so we decided to have an early dinner in the middle of the afternoon. The Sangria was fantastic and full of flavor. We had to ask for a side of ice to water it down! We ordered the sweet and fried plantain dishes with half roast chicken and Dominician style Pulled Pork. The yellow rice with a side of beans was great. To spice up our dishes, we asked for their garlic sauce and homemade BBQ sauce which was flavorful with a kick of hotness and had a smokey flavor to it. Overall had a fantastic dining experience!

Sadly I went to try this food today because I really wanted to have some Dominican food. But whoever answered the phone was adamant that I had indeed made an error when placing my order but as you can see, I never did. Instead of apologizing for sending the incorrect food after I tried to let them know. They instead said “well on my end you chose baked chicken”. Despite me politely trying to notify them. Never will order here again. They need to fix their system and not blame customers when they make a mistake.
