Great to grab and go, but be aware that there is virtually no seating. Four stools adjacent to the line to order, plus three chairs by the register. No issue if you are taking your food to go, but don’t plan on this location if you want to eat there (unless you are really lucky and stools open up, as we were – still loud and cramped for dine in though).

Finally, Chipotle is back to the portion sizes from the old days
The bowl was generously filled, just like it used to be. Hope this continues!

Very first thing we did after landing in Denver … head straight to the original Chipotle store opened in 1993. It’s a very small store with few seats inside, but lots of table available outside. We got several bowls quickly for our lunch. I loved the taste of ingredients from this store, it’s different than NJ. Fajitas are spicier, Chicken al pastor has more flavor. Maybe it’s the Denver elevation.

Crew are super nice. We small chit chat about being the original store. The restroom was well maintained.

I was little bumped to see how Chipotle has not put any effort in making this landmark more attracting. Other than a plaque in the brick wall, there’s nothing else, no souvenir, so swag for tourists like us to take back home. Nonetheless I was thrilled to be here as a fan of Chipotle for over 14 years.

The original!
So fun to go to the original Chipotle!
Lots of enjoyable seating outside.
Bar counter type seating inside a bit tight and could crowd the offering line.
Clean place
Wheel chair friendly
We both had burritos that were delicious and of course made to our liking.
Fun to think this is where it all started.
Highly recommend for nostalgia and of course a delicious meal!

The indoor space is a tad limited but otherwise one of the better examples of a chipotle. I tried to order ahead of time on the app and it said there would be a massive wait and I didn’t have the time. So I risked it and just showed up; the place was empty and I was served immediately. Maybe they are playing games with the software so they get less delivery orders?

This is literally the absolute worst Chipotle location in the world. The employees here are completely careless with absolutely no attention to detail. They do not pay any attention to special instructions with online orders. I have ordered online from this dump at least 36 times this year. I have had the same experience literally every single time. Not once have they gotten my order correct. They completely ignore special instructions every single time. If I order light rice, they dump in heaping mounds of rice (and most of the time the rice is hard as a rock, like biting down on little BB pellets). If I order light salsa, the bowl is literally dripping through the bottom with salsa. If I order extra cheese and extra lettuce, there is barely any cheese or lettuce in there at all.

Now, it would be one thing if this happened once or twice. Mistakes happen, I get it. But for this to happen literally every single time on over 30 orders, that is no mistake. That is intentional carelessness and negligence. That is the staff saying “I see your special instructions, but I dont care about them and I am not going to make your order the way you asked for it”. It also reflects very poorly on the management. Clearly the managers do not train their staff properly and do not set an example for attention to detail. I would bet lots of money that management literally tells the staff to ignore special instructions like this. That is the only way that they could be this consistently bad at following instructions on each order.

I would order it in the store, but I have a disability and I am not able to go in and order. I would order it from another location, but you cant choose the store location when you order delivery through the app. I would order from another store through doordash, but there is no option for special instructions (light rice, extra lettuce, etc.) on doordash. Instead, I have to rely on this incompetent staff at this location to get it right, which they never do. I wish that this location would be sold to someone else that knows how to run a store, and if it is a corporate location I wish they would actually give this store a proper audit so they can see how horrible this store is run and operated.

Eating at the first ever Chipotle is quite the nice experience! It has some memorabilia in the store, has the original design outside kept, and a nice plaque dedicating itself as the first. It’s just a Chipotle so your experience will be similar to other ones you can find in the states, but you won’t regret it!

Don’t piss these guys off they will short your bowl, I asked for fajita veggies on the side and for some reason that triggered the worker lol

This original location and company used to provide the best food ever. Now they are sourcing lower quality ingredients and have smaller portions. And the CEO wants to raise prices because 60% of the customers make over $100k. This company is going in the wrong direction and the food isn’t as good as it used to be.

Service was so bad. I was there at 3:50 and there was a line that got taken care of before me (no biggie) but once they finished the line, all the workers just went to the back and left. Myself and another person were waiting to get our mobile orders which should be a fast process but I was there for 10 minutes. FOS should not be left unattended especially when people re there waiting.
