Got seated and served a drink promptly.
Bartender was very busy handling the bar, takeout, and service bar. Too much in my opinion for one person. It took a long time to put our order in because she was so busy.
We started with buffalo wings which were quite good. We then both ordered the Prime rib special both ordering med/rare.
The meal came out and both plates came out looking very nice.
When we went to eat the prime rib it was the toughest piece of meat I think I have ever had at a restaurant.
I had the baked potatoes appetizer the oil was dripping from it they had no taste whatsoever. We also ordered the poutine which the gravy was literally out of a bag. There were no cheese curds on it was mozzarella cheese you can tell it was placed in a broiler. Potatoes were super greasy.
My wife ordered the turkey dinner which literally looked like deli turkey meat the gravy was out of a bag and tasted horrendous she ate mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce that was her dinner. I ordered the fisherman’s platter and it smelled fishy I left more than half their. My son ordered cheese pizza it was decent. I think you would have gotten a better Pizza Frozen from Cape cod Pizza.
My daughter ordered plain pasta with butter it was so greasy that she left it behind and it’s one of her favorite meals both my kids are 8 and 9 so they have pretty good appetites.
As I walked to the bathroom I also noticed that nobody regularly signs off on the sanitation schedule that’s posted on the door as I was walking to back to my table I noticed that there are patrons that just left their food behind hardly even ate it you can definitely tell they would try to eat it but then left it right there.
This restaurant at one time used to actually serve good food.
so I won’t be going there again . Not good for vegetarians or celiac people ! Please update your menu to accommodate people with allergies. Thanks
2024 This time I went to my friends, favorite restaurant and I had the gluten-free pasta Alfredo – being a vegetarian I had broccoli put in. It was very good and I brought a doggy bag home .
But prior to that I had the salad pizza . I saw it at another restaurant and it looked good so I thought I’d give it a try at the Charlie horse.I was shocked to see that it was just dry hard gluten-free shell with absolutely nothing on it except the just okay salad but no sauce or cheese! If you see the picture you’ll see that it’s very unappetizing and I ended up throwing it out. And it was quite expensive as everything is today, but it was not worth $18.18 not including a tip.
My friend gets the steak tips and likes those.
It was very busy – hard to get a waitress. It would be nice to see a smile !
Mackenzie was our server and she was fantastic, sweet and helpful. A really fun “accidental” find.
The chicken was not cut up in pieces, or breaded , the vegetables and rice was drowned in a sweat marinade sauce. If I’m in visioning how this was prepared because I’m a cook myself. Plain cooked chicken and vegetables were thrown in a sauce pan with sweet marinade and heated up then served. I have shown you the pics to see yourself, also paid $15.99 for this soup. On top of that it had black stuff in it which you can see in the pics, and also dirty floors and walls inside the bar area causing many fruit flies that I had swatted away when I was trying to eat my orange chicken nightmare. The only bright spot was the bar tender who was good at what she does. So my first time experience was not good. So if you decide to go don’t eat the Orange Marinade Soup.
