This place used to be California Hot Pot, but it’s now transformed into a cozy spot that serves Chinese rice noodles instead. It’s located on Main Street near 6th Street, and on the side of the building, you’ll spot the sign “Cakelly Plaza.” Across the street, you’ll find the UPS Store and Cathay Bank, and right next door is the Social Security Administration office. There’s a small shared parking lot next to the restaurant, plus street parking if that fills up.
Small Space, Big Comfort
The interior is pretty small — about eight tables, each seating two to five people — but it feels warm and inviting. Service was great and the food came fairly quick. I ordered the tomato soup base rice noodles with beef, and it was delicious! The soup was piping hot, rich in flavor, and absolutely perfect for cold weather.
They offer multiple soup base options and even have single or duo combo meals. The quality of the rice noodles and sliced beef definitely stands out — better than most rice noodle spots I’ve tried.
⭐ Final Thoughts
I’d honestly give this place a 4.5, but since my overall experience was great and there wasn’t a single bad thing about it, I’ll round it up to a 5-star rating.
If you’re craving something warm, flavorful, and comforting — this spot is definitely worth checking out!
Another standout is the Pickled Pepper Beef Rice Noodles. This dish is bold and spicy, with tender slices of beef and the unique kick of pickled peppers. It has that addictive sour-and-hot flavor combination that keeps you coming back for more.
The portions are generous, the ingredients are fresh, and the prices are very reasonable. The shop itself is cozy, clean, and has a welcoming vibe. Whether you’re craving something spicy or just want a hearty, satisfying meal, this place won’t disappoint!
Note: there is a small parking lot right next to the restaurant although all seem to be compact sized, street parking is plenty too if you have a larger car. And, they also do happy hour from 2-6pm for snacks and drinks.
The restaurant is conveniently located, but parking can be tricky since it’s in front of the Social Security building. Overall, a solid spot for a comforting bowl of noodles with vibrant flavors!
Each dish bursts with fresh ingredients and aromatic spices. The noodles are perfectly cooked, and the toppings add delightful texture and depth. Friendly service and reasonable prices make it a go-to destination for noodle lovers.
Additionally, their ice lemon tea perfectly complements the savory flavors of the rice noodles. Refreshing and balanced, it’s the ideal beverage choice to accompany your meal, offering a delightful contrast to the rich, savory dishes. A must-try for a complete dining experience.
