Reviews
We spontaneously walked into Broken Keel on New Year’s Eve, and honestly, it turned into one of the best restaurant experiences we’ve ever had.
From the moment we walked in, we were seated in rockstar seating right next to the band, which instantly set the tone for an unforgettable night. The live music, the energy, the crowd — everything was absolutely spot on.
Our server Xannah was nothing short of AMAZING. Truly some of the best service we’ve ever received anywhere. She took care of us all night long, never missed a beat, and treated us like family. Friendly, attentive, fun, and genuinely awesome — she made the entire experience next-level.
The food was great, the atmosphere was electric, and the people were fantastic. We stayed all the way until midnight, ringing in the New Year and watching the fireworks — it couldn’t have been more perfect.
If you’re anywhere near Savannah, do not miss Broken Keel.
Highly recommend — 5 stars, 3 thumbs up, and we’ll absolutely be back!
I ordered the stuffed flounder, and it was extremely dry and overcooked, which made it hard to enjoy. I also tried the house chips — they were more like potato chips and honestly nothing special.
On the positive side, the bar staff was fantastic. Everyone was very friendly, attentive, and gave great service throughout the visit. The atmosphere was also really nice — good vibe, enjoyable setting, and a place I could easily see myself relaxing in for drinks.
Overall, I’d rate the food 2/5, but the staff and atmosphere were a solid 5/5. If you’re stopping by for drinks and a good environment, it’s worth a visit — I just hope the kitchen improves.
First, there was someone out front that gave us the idea and I’m glad that she did. Thanks for that $5 off coupon. My kid got the Mac and cheese and finished it very fast. So fast that I couldn’t get a photo. lol.
My wife and I shared the bourbon Salmon and it was phenomenal. Large portion of salmon with perfectly crisp greens beans and excellent potatoes. I recommend!
The place has a cool vibe to it and we enjoyed just sitting in the restaurant.
I ordered the chicken wing platter with hot Buffalo sauce, and it was solid. The waiter and waitresses were polite, attentive, and helpful, which made the visit even better. They also have a good selection of cocktails, so there’s plenty to choose from whether you’re in the mood for something classic or something a bit more adventurous.
One area that definitely needs improvement is cross-contamination awareness. My friend has allergies to nuts and shrimp, and because the fryer oil wasn’t separated, he couldn’t eat half of the food we ordered. For a restaurant with such a strong menu and atmosphere, this is something they should address quickly — keeping a separate fryer for guests with allergies would make a big difference.
Overall, Broken Keel has a great vibe, tasty food, and friendly staff, but allergy safety is an important point they need to tighten up.
