This was hands down the most authentic Italian food I’ve had since we traveled to Italy. From the first bite to the last, everything tasted like it came straight from a small family kitchen in the old country. The flavors were rich, fresh, and perfectly balanced, you can truly tell when food is made with tradition and pride.

The atmosphere only made it better. Warm, welcoming, and full of that classic Italian charm that makes you want to sit, eat, talk, and stay awhile. And William was absolutely the best. He made us feel like family from the moment we walked in and truly brought the whole experience together. It didn’t just feel like dinner, it felt like being back in Italy. We will definitely be back!

Just what you’d expect from an AUTHENTIC Italian place. The portion size is quite generous, even for appetizer. The specials can be a bit pricey but the quality is phenomenal and you save on the wine 😉 My husband had a short rib with parpadelle and I had a crab&shrimp ravioli with a brandy orange sauce – both delectable!

The chef was not rude, he was actually quite nice when we were there. He’s Italian, you just have to understand that there are different cultures and styles out there and not take things personally 🙂 He loves what he does and it shows through the way he cooks. He also had two staff members helping him so I think he has hired them to improve the service and speed (based on previous reviews) and it’s working!

Come for the amazing food – not small talk, nice furniture, or a fancy atmosphere – and you’ll leave with a full belly and a smile on your face. That’s all, folks!

Went here for the first time and it was so good! We got the carbonara with sausage, there was a special with clams and arrabbiata sauce which was delicious and spicy. For an appetizer, we got arancini which were great, and the tiramisu for dessert.

The food is amazing. Make reservations or forget it. Very small hole in the wall place. Dont let that fool you! The chef is Italian and comes out to tell you the specials. The menu is very limited, but the specials were the most amazing Italian I have ever had! We had a bigger party, 12 people. We all ended up ordering and sharing everything. There were four appetizers, five main entrees, and four desserts. Gnocchi with veal shank, risotto and wild boar, shaved ribs with pasta, and this ravioli seafood dish with crab claws and the largest shrimp I have ever seen were the main specials. Just try it. It is an experience you will not regret or forget. For dessert i chose the limoncello cake. My husband got the pistachio cheesecake. And we tried their tiramisu. It was all delicious! P.S. BYOB.

OK. This is not some jovial character with exaggerated gestures, a loud voice and a flamboyant personality. But the food. He’s in no hurry, your in his world and he’ll get to you in his own good time. But the food. No colorful decor, classic italian songs, or clean white linen cloth on a table. But the food!! Just wait till you try the food.

A tiny spot called Piccola Italia on MLK, about 1 mile east of the Bucs facility. 5 simple wooden tables with red plastic chairs and black cloth napkins. What sounds like an old transistor radio with a tinny sound plays unrecognizable italian music that may very well be some golden oldies from the motherland. This is a one man show, where the broodish chef is also your order taker, server and cashier. In a hurry? Go somewhere else. Want amazing food? Your in the right place.

In anticipation of a great meal. My instinct. I brought with me a bottle of Chianti Classico that laid in my cellar fridge for over 15 years, 2007 vintage. You see, he does not sell wine, you can bring your own if you want some. A simple menu lists your choice of 10 different pastas for $20. You can add a protein such as sausage, meatball, chicken or shrimp for $5. I knew what I wanted right away. I got the Carbonara with Parmasean Sauce and added Italian Sausage as a protein. That would tell me all I needed to know.

Sublime. I allowed myself to be transported back to a different time and place. Music from the Villa kitchen permeated the air as I ate outside under large expansive trees in an Italian countryside vineyard with a gentle afternoon breeze. Yeah, I have one heck of an imagination. The chefs food is simple, fresh, unassuming and embracing. I relished every bite and it’s pairing with the amazing wine I brought. Back to reality where I chose the Tiramusu for dessert and Cannoli’s for the wife who was babysitting.

For you food lovers, here is a spot that rewards patience and great expectations. Parking is on site and limited. Dinner reservations a must. Ask about the specials. He gives pasta cooking classes with dinner at the end. I cannot wait to go back, I already know what I want to try next. I am picking the next bottle of wine as we speak. COME GET YA SOME!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our food at Piccola Italia Bistro. The caprese salad was delicious and the burrata was so fresh tasting. My wife had ossobuco on risotto which was very hearty and a large portion. I had the tortellini which was excellent. We really enjoyed our food and will return. Two things to remember: 1) you need a reservation. It’s a very small restaurant so it may look empty but people who reserve, quickly fill it up. 2) I’ve seen reviews that the chef is rude. He is NOT rude. He is quiet natured and direct which is fine. We liked him!

Lastly, the location isn’t the best and I wish they could move to a good location with more space. They would do very well but honestly people will still come where they are now because the food is good. I recommend this restaurant and we will be back.

An incredible culinary experience! Don’t let the limited menu online fool you. The chef tells you all the specials and there are so many of them! We had the short ribs, lamb, and bolognese for mains and burrata caprese and arancini for apps. All of them were cooked to perfection! The staff is friendly and attentive. This is a BYOB, so it saves on alcohol. Make sure to get reservations as the place is VERY small but that allows the chef to focus on the few guests. Highly recommend!

Probably the best experience I’ve had in Tampa. You can tell there is care and love put into all of the dishes, and you can tell everything is handmade with quality ingredients. Whenever people complain about pricing it’s comical considering chains like Cheesecake charge MORE for fast food. Can’t wait to come back. Thank you for a memorable birthday.
