We picked the £45 set menu which included 2 starters 2mains and 2 desserts. The food we had was out of this world, I had the tempura prawns (the best I’ve ever had) katsu curry for main and banana fritters for dessert. Such delicious food, you must visit. Can’t wait to go again
The food and service was excellent.
Tea the owner has created a lovely restaurant space with a modern, calm vibe. Her design skills are clear to see.
The restaurant, most of which is upstairs is comfortable, inviting and clean.
The menu is very interesting and varied.
Mon, Thai and Japanese dishes are offered at reasonable prices. The presentation is lovely and the individual flavours within the dishes are clearly experienced. I shall return soon and if you have not already tried Mon Experience then give it a try.
Well done to Tea for this creation and commendations to her team of top chefs. Wishing you continued future success!
We visited at 8pm on Sunday evening, met with generous hospitality, and were seated quickly. We got to sit besides the window on the second floor, with a lovely view of the castle. The staff were eager to make dish recommendations and answer any questions we had about the menu.
I was visiting with my partner, so we ordered the Set for Two, which offers two starters, two mains (Curry or Stir Fry), and two desserts for a fixed price of £45.00 (at the time of writing). This is extremely cost-reasonable both for paying together or splitting with a friend, and there are other sets available making this very student friendly also..!
The food was the star of the show, full of flavour and cooked exceptionally well. The shrimp tempura was perfectly crispy & juicy, whilst the beef teriyaki was tender and sweet. Our mains were not only fantastic, but the portion sizes were great. As for dessert – the Mochi Ice Cream was lovely and served with fruits & cream, but the Mango Sticky Rice was the favourite. I would highly recommend it as a comforting end to an excellent meal.
Sidenote: we ordered two cocktails for £6.75 each (ATTOW). Great price & they did not go light on the alcohol! They tasted great and were a great accompaniment to our meal.
My deepest thanks to the wait staff and the chefs in the kitchen, they were attentive and put a great deal of effort to ensure our standard of dining was as high as possible.
I cannot recommend this place enough. If you‘re looking for something new and good, try Mon Experience. They are easily the best Thai place in Norwich. Looking forward to our next visit! ❤️
Food is incredible and at a cheaper price. From sushi to pad Thai. This is definitely recommended for family/friends gathering or even solo.
The best Thai food I had experience. Come and visit them and experience their tasty food. And shop at Win Asian shop after your lovely meal at Mon Experience.
Thank you and will be back soon!
For starters, we had the tempura king prawns and the teriyaki grilled beef. Both were excellent. The prawns were crispy, juicy, and incredibly fresh, while the beef was tender and packed with flavour. Honestly, the portion sizes were so generous they could’ve passed as mains.
For our mains, we chose the “pad cha” with seafood and the “Mon pork belly curry”. Both dishes automatically come with jasmine rice, which is a great touch since you don’t need to order it separately. The Mon pork belly curry wasn’t quite a hit for us (we’d give it a 6/10). It wasn’t bad at all. The seasoning was decent and the flavours were mild but pleasant. However, it didn’t really stand out. The pad cha, on the other hand, was outstanding. A solid 10/10. From the first bite, it was bursting with flavour. The seafood was fresh, the spice level just right, and it paired perfectly with the jasmine rice.
For dessert, we had the mango sticky rice and the mochi ice cream, both absolute must-tries. The sticky rice was soft and rich with coconut milk, and tasted amazing. The mochi ice cream (we had the mango flavour, which varies by day) came topped with fresh strawberries, raspberries, whipped cream, and mango syrup. It was the perfect balance of sweet and tangy, and such a refreshing way to end a flavour-heavy meal.
We also tried the mango smoothie and Thai milk tea. Both were tasty and not overly sweet. They definitely helped cool things down after the spicy dishes.
The staff were lovely, friendly, helpful, and very polite. They even offered us mints at the end of the meal. All in all, this was a fantastic dining experience. We’ve tried nearly every Thai restaurant in Norwich, and this family-run spot is right up there among the best. They definitely deserve more recognition, and I’d happily recommend them to anyone.
