We had breakfast here today. I ordered the steak dish, and my wife got the salmon. Overall, we were both happy — both dishes were really good. Our daughter had pancakes with bacon and loved them too.

The only thing I didn’t really like was having to order at the counter, then wait for the food to be brought out. I’m just not a big fan of that setup. But other than that, the food, vibe, and atmosphere were all great.

My husband and I took a chance to go here for breakfast our 26 year anniversary. We didn’t think we were going out because we were somewhat snowed in. We had a neighbor who cleared our driveway for us to get down the mountain to go out. So we went to this place and we loved it. We will definitely be going back.

We got a couple basics which is grits or home fries, toast, 2 eggs and bacon or sausage. The sausage was not mass produced sausage and had good flavor does come out thin. The other dish we had was hog heaven the English muffin was home made very good with bacon poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. Would definitely order again. Grits (stone)are mixed with pimento cheese. Also had bloody Mary’s they were simple and perfect. Comes with two olives and pickle spears. You do order inside but everything is brought to your table. Water and coffee are self serve. The staff is very friendly. Cute place would come back

Absolutely amazing. Food was unbelievable. Ordered the Mcfly sandwich, and the heartbreaker sandwich – both were on point! Service was great, food came out super-quick and that first bite…. wow!

Open Oven should be proud of their menu and I highly recommend everyone visiting here at least once.

First visit this past weekend. Google steered us right!

Greeted quickly by a friendly staff member.

You order first then go to your table then they bring your food out. We sat on the patio and food came out fast and hot. Everything fresh and delicious.

Patio is mostly covered. Nice place to sit.

First thing upon entering was that amazing smell coming from the kitchen that immediately made my mouth start watering! I ordered the Chicken and Benny and ate outside on a beautiful morning. It was absolutely delicious and the waitress was the perfect balance of attentive and giving space to enjoy. Highly recommend for a wonderful brunch!

What a cute/cozy breakfast place in Black Mountain. We came for breakfast on Sunday around 10am. They were people in line but we got seated pretty quickly. They have patio for people who would love to enjoy some sunshine ☀️ the hostess gave us the menu and then we ordered our foods with the cashier. Drink station included coffee, oatmilk, half and half, water, and tea. Foods are great, service are quick. We left with a full and happy belly

Oct 2025 – James, Marjie, Josh, and I skipped the hike up Lookout this year and had brunch at Open Oven. Although we were traveling to back and forth to Johnson City Hospital it was nice being together over some Dynamite coffee and comfort food.

A really great place for brunch or lunch. The bad news about the menu is that everything sounds great. I recommend a side of fried artichokes they’re done perfectly.

We were VERY pleasantly surprised by this place! We didn’t have high expectations because to us most places brunches are all similar and hard to mess up. Open Oven surpassed that! I got the Fried green tomato Benedict (special for that day) and my boyfriend got the Seoul Bowl and both were so flavorful and executed perfectly! So unique and cooked perfectly! The only downside I had was that for a brunch place, there really weren’t many coffee options but they had plenty of cocktails ☺️
