Oh my gosh I just ate dinner here for the first time in years. Actually I was never here because it used to be Chadwick’s last time I was in the building. Anyway it was a perfect experience. I was dreading trying to find somewhere to eat at the last minute on not only a Saturday night but Valentine’s Day. Every other restaurant I tried in Georgetown was still holding reservations and full to capacity at 10pm with lines out the door. As soon as I entered Mr. Smith’s I felt at home. Cozy environment and room for me even though they were pretty busy. I also had no idea what to order. I had eaten at Mr. Smiths however many years ago when they were on M Street. So I ordered the chicken Marsala and it was so much better than I could have imagined! Huge portions beautiful presentation DELICIOUS!!! So much food at a reasonable price I had to ask myself am I really in Georgetown???? My server was excellent and I think it was the manager who I was talking to about when it was Chadwick’s who was also very friendly. The atmosphere was so fun. I really didn’t feel alone even though I was. I was happy watching everyone in groups enjoying themselves celebrating birthdays Valentine’s Day and singing at the piano. So glad I stumbled in here tonight.

We celebrated a birthday at Mr. Smiths…and had the best experience!
The atmosphere was so cosy, we walked in and felt right at home.
The staff was very attentive and it seemed like they all get along very well and like to work together.
The food was amazing! We’ve had some special dietry requests, which were all fulfilled without any problems.
We even received a birthday brownie at the end of our visit!!!
Thank you for this beautiful evening!!!

The burgers here are delicious! They are very juicy and will fill you right up. The massive nachos are really good too. You will definitely want to share with at least 3 other people to finish that platter.

My favorite part of the bar is the piano playing. They always have good music playing and it really makes it special fun place to go.

I highly recommend this place for a first date. Meet at the bar and get a few drinks. If the date continues to go well, order some food and maybe enjoy some impromptu karaoke with the piano player.

The service is also very good. The staff have always been pretty attentive and friendly.

A Georgetown Favorite!

Mr. Smith’s of Georgetown is a must-visit! I tried their famous chicken tenders, and they were some of the best I’ve had—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. The portion size was generous too! The cozy atmosphere and friendly service made the experience even better. They also have live piano music in the evening, which creates a great ambiance. Definitely a go-to spot if you’re in the area and craving delicious comfort food with a side of great vibes.

I come here once a month when I catch a movie. The food is delicious and the drinks are refreshing. Nice casual bar with terrific food and service. Last night they made me the chicken tenders even though they were not on their late night menu. I very much appreciated that.
Half the time I buy movie tickets in Georgetown just so I can eat here.

Keep up the good work everyone.

Was out exploring Georgetown for the day and stumbled upon Mr. Smith’s of Georgetown because I was starving. The establishment has a homie feel to it and guests can either dine inside, enjoy the weather outside, or even eat upstairs. I read somewhere that on certain days they have someone playing the piano while guests dine/watch/listen.

Service was pretty decent. I was a bit confused though because while I did have a server who took my drink and food orders, the host (I believe) was the one to give/collect my bill/tip… Not too sure if there’s tip pool that gets divided at the end of the shift, but it threw me off a bit. Not a big deal though because the host was very kind and polite and I really appreciated that.

Now on to the food/drinks. I really wanted to get a burger but I decided to try out the Cuban sandwich with fries. I’m glad I did because the sandwich was delicious. Just the right toasty outside and hot melty cheese and moist flavorful pulled pork and ham on the inside. The fries were a nice compliment as well. I did try out a happy hour margarita and a pecan pie for dessert but they both played second fiddle to the Cuban. If I visit Georgetown again, I’ll make sure to come back for that sandwich alone.
