At our Arlington, TX location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

When my family and I dined at this restaurant, we were absolutely amazed by the exceptional service! Every staff member was incredibly warm and friendly, going above and beyond to assist us. What stood out most was a lovely lady named Mollie—she was the sweetest and most attentive team member. During our conversation, she mentioned she has been with the Captain D’s brand for over 20 years. I truly believe they must have an amazing boss to inspire such loyalty from their employees. Highly recommend this place for great affordable food and outstanding service!

Visited at the drive-thru about 6:30 Friday 2/6/26. Ordered 4 pc fish with green beans and fries and a large sweet tea, easy ice. Accepted upsale of 3 shrimp for $1.99. This was going to be 2 meals for me. Smoke was billowing out the door. Kind of choked me up. I had to ask for my tea to be filled up. They complied. Got my order in reasonable time. Got home and my order was all wrong. They gave me a 3 PC with corn on the cob with cole slaw. I immediately called and was only able to leave a message. I gave them the info from my receipt, my name, phone # and asked them to call me with resolution. No call. Saturday morning 11:00 I called again, reached VM again and left a similar message. It is almost 4:00 Saturday and still no reply. I have been to Captain D’s in GP probably over 100 times in my life time. They have never got my order wrong. Really wanted these people to call me like they cared but they didn’t so back to GP I go next time I want Capital D’s.

This Captain D’s is awesome!! The food and customer service is great! Love their special on Mondays. The lady that waited on us had a wonderful personality, I wish I got her name. I give this restaurant 5 stars.

I never give 5 stars because to me, that exemplifies perfection, but this particular new Captain D’s location was pretty darn close! From the time we entered the restaurant we were welcomed with and waited on with a smile and the manager (Molly) was extremely kind and attentive. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious! Not to mention seniors get discounts Sundays and Wednesdays, so that sweetened the experience even more… we will be back again!

Im giving this review because I hope this place makes it food came out hot and not a long wait time but I got a handfull of okra which was a dollar extra I count 20 peices not sure if they weigh it out but that’s kinda small

Excellent battered fish and butterflied shrimp at a very reasonable price of $8. Both were well prepared and not greasy at all, with good size portions. Shrimp were a wee bit small but I had plenty to eat and couldn’t finish the fries.
