Definitely a staple of St. Bernard! The dishes are well seasoned and portioned.
The Crawfish over Fish platter was my favorite but the Gator Sausage was surprisingly good too, especially with the mustard. 10/10!!

You’ll find a relaxed atmosphere and an expansive menu filled with Cajun favorites at this local restaurant.
Be warned: the portions are incredibly generous, so pace yourself! The prices are quite fair, and the service is efficient, with food arriving promptly.
My only minor critique is that the dishes leaned a little salty, but the quality was otherwise good, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

These are not my kind of reviews but it’s got to be said.
Do not order the ribeye. The photo speaks for itself.
Was supposed to be a Medium Rare steak. Steak was way over cooked and full of tendons.
I ask them to just take a few dollars off the bill and I was going to try and eat around it. The manager would not do that, and only wanted to cook another one.
They new steak came out and all the other people in our party were finished eating so I had to pack it up and take it to go.
I do not recommend this place.

Charlies is an amazing spot for food! We were staying at St.Bernard State Park and decided to stop into Charlie’s. Needless to say we ended up having three meals here lol The food was absolutely delicious and the catfish strips were out of this world! Our waitresses were absolutely lovely and had great attitudes and were a pleasure to be around. I absolutely recommend everyone to try this place, and if you get the mac and cheese, which you definitely should, make sure you get the gravy to go with it! I know it sounds strange at first but trust me, it’s life changing! The omelet was amazing in both flavor and size, I only ended up eating half because I got so full, but it is definitely an amazing breakfast!

We stopped here on a trip to New orleans to get some boudin…they were out of boudin so I opted for the seafood gumbo and my husband got the chili fries and fried pickles…the fried pickles were good..crispy..fresh…but the chili tasted more like it was canned on top of the fries and the gumbo tasted like it was prepackaged and just heated up. No seafood in it. I also got a bloody Mary but it didn’t taste like it had any alcohol in it whatsoever…my husband enjoyed his bud light. Bathrooms were clean..the restaurant itself needs a good cleaning. The menu is extensive and maybe we just picked the wrong items off of it. It seemed to be pretty busy when we were there.

The food here was great. Our server was very attentive and helpful with her suggestions. The seafood platter is worth the price. The crab was amazing. We tried the alligator sausage and it was very tasty. I could see myself ordering that in the future. We went here on the recommendation from a fishing buddy. Glad we took the advice!

I absolutely love this place! The food has never disappointed, and I really hope they never change the portion sizes. I usually avoid ordering dishes I can cook at home, like pasta, but at Charlie’s Restaurant, it’s impossible to resist the creamy crawfish pasta—it’s my absolute favorite! While that’s my go-to dish, everything I’ve tried here has been outstanding. About a year ago, I brought my grandma from Guatemala, and she fell in love with Charlie’s too. To this day, she says it’s her favorite restaurant in the USA! That just goes to show—Charlie’s has earned international approval. Highly recommend!

Delicious food with a large selection on the menu. The catfish is some of the best I have had and I am very picky about ordering fish in restaurants. The Kicking Crawfish pasta is a must have! Also, serving sizes can definitely be split and prices were very reasonable.
Not only do I recommend, but plan to go back!

I think this is a nice, chill spot to grab some food. It definitely feels more local. It was really nice to see so many people come in and be greeted by their first name. We were visiting from out of town and stopped here for lunch before a fishing trip. The debris fries were one of the best things I’ve had while in town. We were both surprised by how good they were. He had a good po boy, and I had a good club.

We came to this place for a person’s recommendation, I honestly didn’t like it. I found kind of fastfood food. It was good, but I was looking for something more local. Anyway, something new to try, food it was good and cheap
