The food was amazing and the service great. We had crab rangoon as appetizers. Crispy, fresh and very tasty. Main course was Mongolian beef and shrimp fried rice. All the food was excellent and Bo Ling’s never disappoints on taste and quality.

It was extremely loud. It was dinner time and busy so yes, you expect noise. This was unusually loud because three sets of parents brought in three different screaming kids and they were all on opposite sides of the dining area. Not the restaurant’s fault I know but still very very loud. Maybe get a sitter or take the children to a kid friendly restaurant instead of making the other diners suffer.

This place is very good! The food was amazing, we had some edamame, crab rangoons, general tso’s chicken, and two mixed drinks. Our server was great and there was another girl who worked there that treated us real good even though she wasn’t necessarily our server. All of the staff that we interacted with were friendly and prompt with our food and anything else we asked for.

Let me preface by saying I am Chinese and grew up eating really great Chinese food in California. So I really really wanted Bo lings to be good and I had high hopes because I’ve had their dim sum before and it was pretty good. So we came to try their normal dinner and it was a little disappointing to me because there was definitely an American flare to it. The shu mai didn’t taste authentic. The honey walnut shrimp and chicken wasn’t the best either. Chicken was dry. Flavor was good though. The beef chow fun was great, I do like that one. And all the dumplings were decent as well . I think just the overall taste was not as authentic as I hoped for. But if you are an American and can’t tell the difference, I think this place would be great! The food did take a bit to come out also but that’s ok!

I had Frid rice noodle and beef to go!!! Honestly , this is the dish that almost all Chinese restaurants can cook and Bo Ling did it the worst comparing other ones. I had more than 10 times of the same dish among different restaurants and okay Bo Ling did the worst of the worst. The rice noodle is very thick and the cook made it super salty. By the way, the price is the highest !! lol.

Bo Lings was recommended to me by a close friend. It did NOT disappoint! We first had the pan-fried pork dumplings. I ordered the Sweet & Sour Shrimp. My brother ordered the Cantonese Pan-Fried Noodles with Chicken. Dad ordered the shrimp fried rice with egg rolls. He was obsessed with the spicy mustard sauce. Everything was delicious, and we had lots of leftovers. But the star of the show was Kevin, our server. He was amazing, attentive, and put up with my dad’s jokes. He made the evening special for all of us, and we can’t wait to come back next time we are in Overland Park!

We had not been to Bolings in a few years. The atmosphere & decor was nice. The service needs work. We had to ask twice for plates for our appetizers. Waiting again for an additional tea cup. The chicken for the lettuce wraps was extremely salty. The bill was $80 for two people at lunch. Probably won’t return unless something changes.

This honestly used to be my actual favorite Chinese restaurant in the entire KC area. It has been worse lately. I’m not sure if there’s been a shift in management, or if we’ve just been unlucky, but my partner and I went out tonight (a Friday) and every single step was a frustration.

I ordered the Bejing duck, which is a pricier item and was told it would take extra time. Not an issue for me. Just before the food arrived, I was informed that they were out of the steamed buns, which are a big part of why I ordered that dish. They gave me pancakes instead and brought out a plate of actually cold duck.

Then the server spent over 10 minutes talking to other tables while we tried to get our check. The entire thing felt bizarrely rude and unprofessional. I paid way too much for the honestly bad food I received. I was very disappointed, when I have considered this place my favorite. I’m leaving 3 stars on the off-chamce this was a fluke, but I’m unlikely to go back at this point

Bo Lings has been a family favorite for years. Whenever we come back home to KC for the holidays, it’s always on our list to dine. Isaac did a fantastic job serving us! Thank you for a great quality meal and a wonderful dining experience.

Great lunch meal. Perfectly cooked. Waiter was very polite and nice. Note: He is very soft spoken so speaking up a little louder would be great.
Young people today easily respond to a “thank you” with “no problem”. Responding with “Of course” or “my pleasure” really changes the whole customer experience to the customer feeling valued. Just sayin!

The waiter refilled our drinks several times, although he seemed very busy. However, the busser was quite slow and didn’t have the best attitude. She appeared distracted by her phone, which made us unsure if she was part of the staff. I think there’s room for improvement in employee training. The waiter did apologize for the experience, and I hope management takes this into consideration. The food, however, was excellent.
