We stopped in here and placed a to go order. We were staying at the attached hotel for the night after driving up from Indiana. We don’t want to travel far to grab a bite to eat and this place was conveniently attached to the hotel we were staying at. I ordered the tuna the meatloaf and butter cake. Tuna was great meatloaf wasn’t bad and I was too full to eat the cake. Well either to full or to tired. The wife ordered a spinach dip and I think a pork or chicken. Overall it wasn’t bad. Could have used a tad bit more seasoning on everything. But I guess it worked out because I really need to be more healthy anyways.

Food was expensive for what one gets. The service was horrible. We come here once a month to every other month. We’ve encountered the server. She is not very pleasant but shrugged it off. Not this time. Waited 30 minutes to get food. Then another 30 for her to come back. The place had four tables being served. Rest was empty. What is going on with the staff here?

This is a decent place to get some sit down, american food. This bar/ restaurant is connected to the Holiday Inn that sits parallel with Kansas State University. This first time trying it here, years ago, wasn’t the best first impression. I had their fettuccine alfredo and the noodles itself were a little tough and with the calamari I felt like there was a lot going on for a simplistic dish. Or maybe I just didn’t enjoy the peppers. Recently, I’ve given it another go when I stayed at the hotel every so often. Not every dish was a winner, but I had my favorites. My favorite would have to be the Lemony Chicken Piccata and their butter Cake. The noodles that came with were better and the chicken was cooked perfectly, all the right seasonings. And the dessert featuring the butter cake, delicious, warm and topped with vanilla ice cream. I liked the caesar salad as well and with the polenta, ups the game. The only real problem I had this go around was I ordered the chicken caesar salad to-go online, they forgot the chicken. I mean it’s in the name, haha. The parking is a decent size, it is shared with the hotel so you shouldn’t have a problem and the interior is clean and decent location size as well.

Went for dinner last night and our experience started off strong. Waitress took order. We ordered drinks and water along with our food. Got everything in a timely manner so we were pleased. But then we needed more water and no one ever came by to check on us about our meals or refill our water. Then when I finally caught our waitress she asked if we wanted our dessert to go and we said yes. I had a Landry’s gift card but they wouldn’t honor it because they said they are privately owned. After I paid the waitress asked if we needed anything else I said yes just the dessert to go. From the time we got our meal till we finally got someone’s attention was 25 minutes.

I appreciate the response to the gift card situation but it would have been nice to also address the lack of service.

Happy hour specials are good. Drinks and appetizers. Service at the bar was attentive. Meals were reasonably priced with large portions. Good flavors. Food came out hot. Menu says everything made from scratch and I believe it. Will return.
I’d like to see a steak on the menu.

Was out looking for some Fish and Chips and swung by Houlihan’s. Did not disappoint with the Fish and Chips. The fish was cooked perfect with a nice crispy breading that was not soggy on the bottom. The Cole slaw was ok with the vinegarette tang. Then we come to the fries, I love fries and these were nice and crispy potatoes by far my favorite thing from my plate. The Asian Chicken Wrap looked amazing and smelled even better when it got to our table. Word is it was delicious and I concur as it was gone before my food was so that’s a win. Paired both of these with a Boulevard 7 beer, IPA style beer that was a great flavourful IPA that did not kick your teeth in with Hops, and a Boulevard Wheat, extremely delicious citrus wheat beer that made the whole Fish and Chips hit all the spots. Lasty our server Erica, she was a gem. Super patient, helped out with some ADHD decision making, and attentive to all the tables in her area. Kitchen staff on point with getting food out and cooked to perfection. All in all a great little spot tucked across from the University and co-located with Holiday Inn. I’d say make a great spot for a rest in your driving through Manhattan, KS on the way somewhere.

Houlahans is another hidden gem here in Manhattan. Sadly it opens at 4pm but it does offer a great happy hour with awesome food and drink specials till 6pm. It has weekly food specials and the French fries are freaking amazing!!! The pot roast, fish tacos omg sooo good. Try a lit for $6 or a Rodney Strong Chardonnay for $9 and it’s not a little small glass either! Or- don’t.
I like my little secret spot.

We have been to Houlihan’s a few times now. We are always impressed by the flavors of their dishes. This time around we ordered a White Sangria, and a Guinness for drinks. For entrees we had the Lemon Chicken Picatta, and the Chicken Lettuce Wrap. The wife chose the wraps because she wanted something light. I ended up helping her finish the plate. The lemon chicken was delicious. We will continue to visit Houlihan’s in the foreseeable future.

Update Nov 11, 2024: We ordered a stuffed chicken breast, and a Veterans Day special, shrimp linguine, if I recall correctly. As usual the staff was very attentive and the food was great.

I ordered a Southwest burger here, very fresh meat and veggies! The bartender Cameron was AWESOME! Was able to handle the full bar and the drinks within the restaurant without stressing out alone behind the bar. The restaurant is connected to a hotel but doesn’t have the hotel feel to it. The prices are reasonable. The restaurant looks fancy and has an outdoor patio too.
