THE BEST PIZZA in Santa Monica – full stop. I got the thin slice, build your own pizza, with pepperoni and anchovies- yes I did. It was DELICIOUS. Straight out of ITALY. Nice to have a new PIZZA spot to frequent! Chase this pizza with a delicious Coca-Cola!

Day TWO: I came back for another!!!

We got the thick mediterranean pizza, the calzone with mushrooms and prosciutto and a pepperoni pizza. They were all delicious! There are some chairs and tables outside and inside so you can enjoy the pizza fresh from the oven. Francesco and Serena are very nice and can make you feel home. We will be back soon!

Best pizza in LA!! I’m Italian and I have been on a hunt for true Italian-style pizza. I finally found what I was looking for. I had the calzone fling and it was absolutely delicious. I also had some of my wife’s mediterranea with thick crust and it was insanely good. The crust was just perfection. On top of everything, the owners are super kind and the best people ever! I cannot recommend this place enough.

Pizza Fling has completely won me over. The service is absolutely impeccable, super friendly, fast, and you can tell the folks running this place genuinely care. That alone is rare enough in LA, but then the pizza shows up… and it’s next-level.
This is the closest l’ve had to real Italian pizza since the last time I was in Italy. That’s probably because these guys are all Italian, and it shows. The ingredients are fresh, the crust hits that perfect sweet spot between crispy and chewy. I’ve already been back four times in the last two weeks and it’s been a knockout every single time. Consistent, delicious, and just a great energy from everyone there.
Now, I will say: a heated debate has broken out in our house. My wife is firmly on team thin crust, while l’ve thrown all my support behind the thick. I told her I knead that thick crust in my life. Either way, we both agree Pizza Fling is something special.

Fantastic, friendly new Italian pizza spot on the west side! Their thin crust option is light and refreshing. You can really taste the difference in the quality of the ingredients they’re using. Can’t wait to come back and try other hits on their menu!

So excited to have a new pizza spot in the neighborhood!! We tried the margherita thin for our son and a 4 stagioni thick since my husband doesn’t eat meat. Both were incredible!! So favorable and delicious, and both had perfect crusts (couldn’t tell ya which I liked better!). The crew was super friendly and helped us navigate the menu and place our order. And both pies came out super fast! Can’t wait to come back to our new fave spot!!

Besides a few serious pizzaolos, there’s a dearth of good (not fancy, sit down, expensive) pizza on the westside. In this gap, Pizza Fling is a welcome new addition that has earned its place.

I saw their IG post and the host recommended a couple options. I was sold on the Regina.

Making really good pizza isn’t rocket science, but despite the simplicity, it boils down to high quality ingredients (flour, tomato, cheese) and techniques (fermentation, proofing, rolling, baking) that make a good pizza great.

Pizza fling imports all their ingredients from Italy, think San Marzano tomato, or Italian 00 flour. Also, when you make really thin crust pizza, you cannot hide behind the dough. Your dough needs to be a perfect bake, while shining a spotlight on the caramelized ingredients. You want the mouthfeel and a slight char, without burning the cheese.

The Regina (meaning Queen) is indeed worthy of pizza royalty, with Tomato Sauce, San Marzano Cherry Tomato Confit, Oregano, Stracciatella, Basil. This is a heavenly bite. Crispy dough, with the sweet sourness of the san Marzano tomato confit that puts the word umami to shame, balancing the acidity with the Stracciatella (mozzarella with cream) and the herbiness of some generous basil to cut through the umami. This pizza was a masterpiece, and it tasted even better the next day. The host recommended (re)baking it at a lower temperature (300) considering the creamy cheese for 2-3 minutes.

I’m not sure I care as much about the pink boxes and branding, which goes into recycle within minutes, but it shows they truly care about the experience.

Overall, a top 3 pizza experience on the westside that won’t break the bank or disappoint. Welcome Pizza Fling, I think our relationship will be more than a fling.

Due to the fact that I try every Pizza place that looks reasonably good I tried Pizza Fling. In a way… it is a Fling with Pizza Fling because I don’t know if I ever want to actually order this again even though it was pretty decent. It’s like a fling in real life – you kinda like it but you feel weird about it and not all the way there but then one day could suddenly want to engage with your fling but it just never really goes all the way home. So to me… that perfectly explains this Pizza.

I don’t even know why I tried this place exactly… I think because I drove by it and noticed it was no longer Upper Crust Pizza and now is Pizza Fling and Pink. Apologies if I am mistaken. I drove by this other Pizza place that is all pinked out called Pizza Girl that is on Sunset more so in Hollywood. I KNOW I don’t want any more Pizza girl. THAT ONE is like a one night stand you didn’t mean to be one necessarily but you’re okay about it because it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good. Fling on the other hand – has multiple styles of Pizza including a Pinsa looking one so I may actually come back for that.

Enough allegory. Look, of the Pink Box Pizza places this is the one I enjoyed more than Pizza Girl but not more than Pitfire Pizza at all. Not at all. I did not expect the thin to be so thin, almost like a Philadelphia Style Pizza it was so thin. Yet… in taste it was pretty good and satisfying – especially when you crisp it back up later one and all the oil and fat from the meat gets soaked up by the razor thing crust. I know making razor thin is an art but I thought in ordering the thin I was getting the one more like what others have provided pictures of. That is their thick – so imagine when I tell you RAZOR THIN. If you like thin this is your place. Also the Pepperoni was favorable. I think Fling uses the exact right type of pepperoni for what else they have going on which really is where a lot of places miss the mark that Fling simply does not.

I would like to know about this place and know how long Pizza Fling has been around and the story behind it. They say they are authentic Italian. I want to know more. Do you cut the Pinsa with scissors for instance? I sense it is a gas oven they use. Am I right or wrong? Why pink?

By the way I did use a promotion to get 2 Pizzas for the price of one which was nice because when you get that much Pizza for about $30 you feel better about it than just one. If you eat big you will need two of these or 1.5 but most people of moderate appetite will be fine. Big burly manly appetites require two of these bad boys for sure. John Cena for instance would just fold this whole pizza into one slice and down it in 2-3 bites max. If not just 1. Take that how you will.

By my own One Bite Pizza standards I’d say this is a 6.8 – 7.1 depending on how you look at it. LA standards are kinda low and you have to keep in mind Jon & Vinny’s, Milo & Olive and Flour are also in Brentwood Santa Monica and they make extremely good Pizza and they’re all in a 8 range in my opinion if it means anything to you – only tried like 300 Pizza places and went out of my way to make sure I covered about 150 in Los Angeles alone plus been to Italy. I would include saying I went to New York but after Boston and New Haven I learned New York isn’t that great Pizza-wise. You know which place in Santa Monica isn’t worth it the first time let alone a repeat visit? Gjelina. Please. That place is mid. Fling actually sits right below the God-like exalted Pizza and is above all the mid and over rated places like Gjelina. So yeah probably will eventually try the thick and pinsa from Fling. Didn’t expect this to happen. Just like a real life romantic fling with a person. Perplexing.

Alright so yeah, try Fling. I like it better than Girl. Fling is much better.

This is the best Pizza in Santa Monica!!! What a great new addition to the food scene. So fresh and delicious. I usually love thin crust but here it is hard to choose between the thick and the thin as they are both just so good.
