We stopped in for a late lunch and it was very good! The people who run it are extremely nice, and we absolutely love this old country store/restaurant. They toast the hot dog and hamburger buns, and we all loved what we ordered. When you’re in St. Matthews, you have definitely got to go to the Calhoun Country Market!

Stumbled upon this intriguing shop 2 days ago. What a lucky find. The server, Mary, was delightful… she’ll make you smile for sure. The latte was perfect, and the store had an eclectic selection of foods from small businesses. Can’t wait to go back and try their lunches.

A friend and I were biking through St. Matthews and he insisted we stop here. After 70 miles, I just wanted some junk food and the largest soda possible (to recharge for the 34 miles back into Columbia). This is the cutest, throwback stop and it made my day. They had the friendliest wait staff (Jennifer!) and the hot-dog deal was so necessary. Please stop in if you’re ever by!

Very neat, retro looking, hometown shop. They have a few goodies, snacks, and lots of honey. Their menu is pretty decent and everything looks tasty. The staff were friendly, welcoming and patient. Made for a good break from driving!

Today I took my little sister to the Calhoun Country Market for lunch…It was not a planned outing and she had never been there, but I sure have!
The hotdog special…(two dogs, one bag of potato chips and a drink is wonderful!). Once you taste the chili on these dogs you will be left wondering?? …How do they make this chili and how do they keep from running out of it?
Or perhaps you may think: Surely they have a fifty-five gallon drum of this fabulous concoction that is so pleasing to the palate being mixed out back with a 15 horsepower Evinrude!
In closing, drop by and shop before and after your meal. Oh and if you do not like hot dogs…order a burger!!! If you travel anywhere in Calhoun County you will find no burger competitor!

Tried today to give a local mom and pop shop a chance as I love supporting small businesses. The food could have been better. Had the wrap and a bacon melt. Barely any meat on the wraps, more jam than anything on the melt. Loved the variety of pickles, jams, and local honey. But the food could use a little help.
