The plain fried chicken wings were very good, but they did not have bleu cheese dip!! The ranch dressing was not very good at all. The wings were great, though!!

We had brisket, pulled pork, and half a chicken. I do not put sauce on my meats, but the brisket and pulled pork were so dry i had to use BBQ sauce. The chicken was juicy but did not have much flavor.

We did not have any side dishes, so I have no comments for that.

We will only come back here if we are just going to eat chicken wings.

My husband and I decided to give Smoking Barrels BBQ a try despite seeing the mixed reviews — and honestly, I get why opinions are all over the place. A real chef or BBQ enthusiast can tell the difference.

We ordered 2 lbs of rib tips, two boxes of pulled pork mixed with brisket, fried okra, and potato casserole. I’ll start with the positives: the okra was fried perfectly — nice and crisp — and the potato casserole truly made me smile. It tasted exactly like the one my mother makes for Thanksgiving and Christmas every year, so that was a sweet surprise.

However, the rest of the experience was just average at best. The rib tips had a good flavor but were extremely dry, and they didn’t seem grilled at all — more like they were baked, just as other reviews mentioned prior. Long time customer’s can also tell the difference because people mentioned the brisket and chicken being baked also .. hence why the food is greasy and dry. It’s obvious. The pulled pork mixed with brisket honestly tasted like the Jack Daniel’s microwaveable pulled pork from the grocery store — not something I expect when paying restaurant prices.

Potion size for the potato casserole was small. As for the garlic bread, it was just okay — not memorable. Tastes nothing like garlic.

Overall, it was an underwhelming experience. I wanted to love it, but there are too many better BBQ spots in St. Louis to roll the dice again here.

Most tender, flavorful barbecue around. Walking in with 10 people could have been a problem but our waiter did not hesitate to help get us all seated quickly. Jonathon was right there getting us menus, taking our beverage orders, and ready to answer any questions. Our food came out quickly and every order was spot on. The pork steak was so tender you didn’t need a knife. The plates of pulled pork, brisket and tenderloin were full of flavor. The sides were all tasty but the star of the show is definitely the meats. You can’t go wrong with stopping in for a great meal.

I ordered delivery so I can’t say anything positive/negative about the service or atmosphere, but I think the food has a long way to go to be a respectable BBQ spot in this city. Ribs were crunchy dry and were just very disappointing. The brisket was cut super thin, but lacked a crust and didn’t really have any flavor. The sausage was similar, it wasn’t bad but just lacked anything worth mentioning. Midwest sauce tasted good, but was very thin and couldn’t save the ribs from how dry they were. There are better places in the area to get BBQ.

Well first walking in the place was dark and had a clogged drain smell but it didn’t stop me. Staff was nice but on to the inedible ribs i ordered for carry out im talking hard like jerky on outside and the meat was darker like it was old one bite and in the trash it went. Baked beans were warmed from a can and corn was dry and old as well. Now i see why i never tried it after years of passing it by.

Everything about our experience here was great. The food was great the service was great everything was just great. Would definitely recommend coming here they have some really good ribs and brisket Mac and cheese was good and the sauces were all, well, great! Need to try more BBQ here in St. Louis so to be able to compare. Good beginning though and we will see what we see while we’re here! We got a three meat sampler for only $23 and decided to get double ribs in the brisket. Came with a couple sides which we got the mac and cheese which was great with some of the Carolina mustard sauce on it. Also got the fried okra which was unbelievable, you have to go here just to get fried okra if you get anything! Did not get too many photos of the food because of the fingers and all being a little messy but the brisket is underneath the pile of ribs there and a decent amount of it. The ribs were clean off the bone also. They’re hot sauce was the best if you ask me. Oh yeah the lil buttered toasted bread they give us delicious as well.

This place is so good. I had the brisket and was pleasantly surprised. The meat is not dried and tastes extremely good. You don’t feel like you have to drown it in sauce to make it palatable by any means. The staff was very friendly and helpful with our group and we had some people who were visually impaired but they were helpful towards. It is a bit small of an establishment. Maybe 10 tables. There were some outside tables as well. I’m not sure how accessible it is for wheelchairs. The door was on sort of the corner of and old building. I would call and ask.

We never ate there before. And I heard nothing but great.Great things about this restaurant , but I disagree totally I got the rib tips not only were they burnt. They must’ve been old because they were so dried out.I couldn’t even chew it.The outside of it was horrid and I like charred taste in a rib , but when the meat is so hard that you can’t chew it , it’s a problem. My spouse had the pork steak that was phenomenal. It was perfectly cooked easy to eat, didn’t show Tinder? He didn’t even need a knife.Did I call and complain?Absolutely not. It’s a decision I choose to make.I don’t care to argue with anyone but if you want good reviews , you should put out good food because mine was not worth the twenty dollars that we paid for it , I literally threw it in the trash when I couldn’t eat the meat. The food was ready when we picked it up exactly when they said it would be ready.. So my overall rating, I guess, would be a 2 star. No, I’m gonna leave it at 1 star. And I get the one star for the lady who helped me at the counter and not it for for the food.

The host was helpful. The food was awful again. The Rib tips was dry, bland, and they do not sauce their proteins. I asked for sauce on the protein and my request was denied. What BBQ establishment do not put sauce on your protein if requested. The Rib & side portions are for a child. I will not return.

I had ordered the 3 meat combo dinner. The ribs were tender and favorable. The chicken was very dry. The pork brisket had no smoke flavor. The sides were just okay. The mac and cheese was bland. The potato salad was decent. The garlic toast was delicious!
