Nothing says Sioux City Food like Navarrete’s. I love this place.
I left Sioux City 19 years ago, but I’ve been going here since I was a kid.
This place has been consistently good for as long as I can remember.
This place knows how to elevate the basics. They just know how to make good home cooking style food.
A must try…

It’s basically gringo tex -mex food. Nothing good or bad. They have great cheap prices. Our waiter was fast and efficient. It was definitely busy. There are a lot of locals and work crews eating there. We live closer to the one in Riverside. It’s smaller and more quiet. So it was just ok, quick food at a great price. (Please put your taco salad in a bowl, not a plate. It’s too hard to eat on a plate)

Navarrete’s is a true hidden gem in Sioux City! It’s conveniently located right on US-75 BUS, making it super easy to find. The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a cozy, welcoming atmosphere and the amazing aroma of authentic spices. The service is absolutely top-notch; the staff makes you feel right at home, and they are incredibly attentive and quick. It has a great laid-back vibe, perfect for a family meal or a hearty stop during a road trip. The portions are generous, the ingredients are fresh, and you can tell everything is made with care. If you’re looking for great value and a warm welcome, this place is a must-visit!

Good portion for $14. Hot sauce with the chips has good flavor and a little heat. Single protein for most dishes, ground beef.

Local favorite Mexican place. This place is different than others you’ll find. Been in existence for many decades and by the same wonderful family. You’re seeing meet n cheese nachos and then a couple burritos with chili gravy on top. Both great options, but it’s hard to find a bad choice here. They make their own home made hot sauce which is also hard to stay away from. The experience is half the fun, as this is not commercialized, and the place visually is no where near flashy. But, you’re attending for the food, and the service, both of which have a pretty good record. You should make this place a stop.

I’ve been eating at Navarre’s since 1992 . My three children also grew up eating here. Sonny and Adela and and their family have been a part of ours. My kids still go there with their kids now. I would have recommended this place to anyone. The waiters and waitresses are nice and friendly. It is a family run establishment. They make sure that you are happy and will taken care of. The hot sauce is to die for. The flower combination chalupas are excellent. And they will make your order the way you want.

Sioux City staple, no frills Mexican joint, cash only. Plentiful chips, good salsa with some heat, and ground beef tacos, burritos and enchiladas. Can’t beat the prices. Gave us a new cup with each soda refill. New to town and everyone kept telling us we gotta go, would totes go back to try the taco salad. Call in an order and park in the lot and they’ll bring it out to you.

Best in town! Been eating here since I was a child at various locations! Food is consistently great! Staff are friendly, efficient, and fun and the prices are great. We went with 9 people recently, total was under $65 and that was with 5 orders of Nachos. (This location is different than the Riverside location, this one is worth the drive across town!)

Food was okay. Nothing outstanding. Not my first choice for Mexican food in the area. The portions and prices were great. The dining area was dirty and dingy.
