We believe food should be a social experience, one that combines stimulating conversation, good company and distinctively creative culinary choices. We set out to create a restaurant where you can share a casual dining experience that creates memorable conversations. Our passion for conversation and cuisine is why we believe we’re a step above your modern day American Bar & Restaurant.
American eatery with creative tasting menus & à la carte fare (pizza, salad) in bright, modern digs.

I want to preface this review by saying this is not a knock on the service at all!! Patrick was our waiter and he was very friendly, gave good recommendations, and checked on us multiple times to make sure everything was okay. The manager (I believe) even came over at one point and gave my fiancé and I a drink each on the house because there was apparently some mishap at the bar ( ♀️) so we appreciated that. Now, yes my fiancé and I went on Valentine’s Day and yes I understand many restaurants offer a limited menu on Valentine’s Day, which was the case with this restaurant, however that was never noted on their website or anything like that. Honestly, my fiancé made the reservation based off of their unique menu he viewed online which had some interesting dishes that we wanted to try and thought would be good, but when we sat down at our table, those options weren’t even on the condensed menu. We started off by getting the shrimp wontons with hoisin lime sauce, which were really good. Then I ordered the 20 oz ribeye that came with fingerling potatoes and veggies, which I substituted for the truffle fries. The fries came with some kind of green sauce/aioli (I have no idea what it was, but it was very good!) I ordered my ribeye medium and when my plate came out at first it was RAW and there were no potatoes on my plate. I asked the server who brought the plate if I could please have the potatoes that came with it and then when Patrick came around to check on us, I told him I didn’t feel my steak was cooked medium and asked that he please take it back and ask them to cook it longer. It was then brought out to me and looked perfect. The steak was good, don’t get me wrong, but I hate to say this I’ve had better steaks at Outback and Longhorn. There’s no way my dish was worth $80. My fiancé ordered the black cod with scallop cream and fish fumet that came with croutons on top and that was REALLY GOOD. However, it was $36 just for the piece of fish alone, no accompaniments with it. Thank goodness we also ordered a side of lobster Mac and cheese because both my fiancé and myself were still hungry after finishing our meals. In total, with tip, our bill came to $257 and I personally feel that was not worth the money at all. The portions were small for the money we paid and we both left still feeling hungry. It was a cool experience and the atmosphere and vibe were nice, but I do not think I will be returning.

Uproot is a win.
Beautiful space with a warm, elevated vibe—the glowing tree inside is a great nod to the restaurant’s farm-forward concept. Despite being busier than I anticipated on a Saturday night with a snowstorm coming, everything ran smoothly.
Service was excellent. Our server Liddy was attentive and honest with recommendations, other staff refilled water without asking, and Sam (the manager) checked in multiple times—never intrusive, just genuinely welcoming.
Drinks were standout. The Blood Moon Margarita was perfectly balanced (had two), and the Golden Orchard Sangria was juicy and satisfying. We shared the Chicharrón Arancini and both ordered the Black Cod—the curry sauce was absolutely sublime.
Prompt seating, well-paced courses, and no rushing. We stayed a while and never felt pressured.
Would absolutely return and could easily see this becoming a regular spot—especially for date night or drinks at the bar.

We had an excellent time here at Uproot. The food is simple and straight forward with a few stand outs (the house wings, pizzas and the pasta purse entree were excellent and so were the desserts!). The staff is AWESOME, from food recommendations to connecting us to cocktails they were brainstorming on the spot, all in a gorgeous setting. Definitely a must try!

Very cool atmosphere, very modern restaurant with interesting decor and hidden doors that can change the sizes of or separate some of the rooms. The drink options are plenty, and I highly recommend The Caffeinated Bird. The Buffalo Cauliflower appetizer was excellent, and so was the avocado dip and chips. The sandwiches and salads, and other entrees were ok. There were 5 of us on this occasion and all felt that our entrees were just ok. The server was very friendly and personable but it took a bit long to get attention throughout the meal, especially when it came time to get the check. We made reservations for an early dinner and there were not many other tables there, so the repeated long waits for her to return to our table seemed unnecessary. I would definitely come back for happy hour or to get appetizers, probably not for dinner again.

Visited Uproot today for dinner.
Ambiance – 10/10
Food and Drinks – 10/10
Service – 10/10
Overall great experience.
Appetizer and drinks were served on time. Both the mocktails – Minty Baby and Berry Bash were solid! Not strong, perfect mixture of the ingredients.
Main course also arrived in a timely fashion.
Pizza was great in taste (felt tomatoes were just a little extra but not a dealbreaker at all). Spouse enjoyed her Chicken Sandwich with side of fries.
Live music by Rayella Cruz blends perfectly with the atmosphere.
Highly recommend this place to everyone.

Me and my fellow Boston University alum, Alex, went to Uproot for a SAE fraternity get together to see our fellow alum, Chef Scott Cutaneo, owner of Uproot. Scott is a graduate of Boston University’s School of Hospitality and has been classically trained in French Cuisine in the Netherlands and Paris. Everything was great, the food, the service, and the atmosphere. Mike at the bar was mixing up specialty cocktails and Chef Scott showed us Uproot’s wine cellar with an amazing collection of wines. Chef Scott has built up this collection with pride. Chef Scott is still the amazing person we went to school with. His passion for excellence and his warm, genuine hospitality hasn’t changed. Make sure you go enjoy a summer meal at Uproot, outdoor seating available and live music too. Thanks to the whole staff of Uproot for an epic get together.

We love Uproot! The food is always wonderful — fresh, creative, and beautifully presented. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The decor is unique, with a light-up tree as the centerpiece inside — such a fun touch!
We also love Chef Scott — he’s innovative with his menu and always willing to create something special just for you. I’ve been to private parties here, and they never disappoint. Uproot offers American cuisine with a contemporary twist, and it’s one of our favorite local spots for both a casual night out and special occasions. Highly recommend!
