The burgers are hands down the best in Pittsburgh — perfectly crispy edges, juicy centers, and packed with flavor. Simple and done right.
Prices are very affordable, especially for the quality. Ordering is cafeteria-style, which keeps things quick and easy. Even when busy, we had our food within 15–20 minutes.
Great burgers, fast service, and fair prices — definitely a go-to spot.
The burger was pretty descent. The patties had a crisp, and there were savory ‘extra’ flavors from the onions/etc that gave it a sharper flavor distinctness. I was underwhelmed though w the patty size. If you pay for a triple patty, I expect more. It was like the size of one descent-ish burger.
The fries are exactly like in and out. Small, crisp, simple tasting, but kinda cardboard-y. You get a lot for the $4 price tag however. Overall they are nice and fine just not high score amazing.
Overall, I wouldn’t mind coming back, but I don’t think this is a five star burger place. It’s fine and descent enough, but for me, I’m gonna continue searching for a great, phenomenal burger in the city.
GOOD: Burger tasted pretty good, cooked perfect. Service was friendly and fast
BAD: Value for the money “where’s the beef?” Shake was far too small for the price and syrupy sweet.
Moonlit burgers in Dormont had good reviews and good pictures of burgers, so I was eager to try it. My double bacon cheeseburger did taste good. It came out fast and they did cook it perfectly. My problem with Moonlit burgers is when the burger patties are smashed so thin you basically get four ounces between two patties at most for well over thirteen dollars – just a burger, no fries.
Additionally, my shake seemed between 6-8 ounces, very small, and it was so sweet. It tasted like syrup; I had to stop consuming. I don’t mind paying 21 dollars for a generous delicious burger and a large shake, but twenty one dollars for a tiny shake, and maybe four ounces of beef just doesn’t cut it. I know this place is popular, but you still need to supply value for the dollar.
Super friendly staff.
Just an amazing experience.
We’ve been before but don’t make it to Dormont often (patiently waiting for Sewickley location to open soon )
I got the blood orange mule they had which was solid but could use a little less ginger beer and a little more citrus (my preference).
I got the classic triple and Clare got the classic single. The burgers have a great lace on them, the onions are cooked perfectly and the cheese is nice and melty. The crunchy lace mixed in with the pickles and all the other components makes this truly one of the best smash burgers around.
The shoestring fries are so crunchy and have the right amount of salt they’re just perfect for me too. Couldn’t stop eating them.
This place is our go-to for burgers in the city of Pittsburg. Well dormont really but you get the idea.
The burgers are simple and excellent. For any expats from California the French fries here are just like the French fries at Carney’s on the sunset strip and are delicious and salty. At the time I write this review an order of fries is $4 and I bet you could spread that between 3 to 4 people.
They offer a full bar I haven’t had any drinks there but it looks like it’s pretty good. Now they do have milkshakes and the caramel vanilla whatever I get is really really good.
If you need a quick relatively inexpensive and unpretentious meal this is it.
Added bonus that this place makes its food super fast so you’re not hanging out too long.
