We drove to the Madison bike swap, Brazen Dropouts, from Texas and stopped here on the way back. Well…first we tried to go to like 2 other places, but no luck. Fortunately for us, third time was the charm because this place is killer for brunch. Chicken and waffles, awesome! Biscuits and gravy, awesome! The bread basket appetizer??? Why is it that good? Try some cider while you’re here. They grow the apples, they brew the cider. It’s awesome. Des Moines is lucky to have a place like this. We will be back next road trip.

2 hours from the time we sat down to the time we got our checks. Waited several minutes to be seated, as there was no one there to seat us. Our table of 4 each ordered a flight of cider and a sandwich. The cider was good, but the sandwich was nothing special. Service was horribly slow. It the first time for all 4 of us…and it will be the last time.

Great for a walk, bring your kids and dogs! Food is awesome, views and sunsets are beautiful! And of course the apples, pumpkins, and fall atmosphere. Plus the food on the deck is great!

One of our favorite restaurants of all time. Every time we go, the service, food & atmosphere are all exceptional. Sourdough starter is a must. Comes with butter of the day & have always been impressed with the variety & flavor. Pizza, burger + fries & cider are all amazing as well. Great patio & dinner views outside. Staff is always friendly & attentive.

We were drawn by the opportunity to pick our own strawberries, given how disappointing the flavor of most purchased in the store are – and not only did we love the strawberries, the meatballs and strawberry sundae were also delicious!

While we did have plans for dinner at another restaurant, we stopped in at the cider house to sample what they had and then also enjoyed an appetizer as well as topping it off with an early dessert! We started with a Cider Flight (see pictue) to sample several of their ciders and while neither my wife nor myself are big cider fans, we enjoyed several of them.

For an appetizer, we had the House Meatballs (see picture) and while they seemed a bit on the salty side, we LOVED them. Lastly, and even though we were stopping elsewhere for dinner next, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to sample a strawberry sundae (see picture). While our trunk was loaded with strawberries to last us for months and we ate our fair share while picking them…the combination with soft serve ice cream was still delicious!

Wonderful farm to table restaurant. Outdoor patio area overlooking the farm. Great gift shop that includes produce from the farm. After dinner you can walk around the farm, flower fields or pick seasonal fruits.

Variety of upscale options on the menu. The pizza is not large but affordable and delicious. They make their own crust. They were willing to accommodate us with a substitution for sauce type! Very helpful! They also have a fun little store next door with breads, fresh picked apples in season, various butters and preserves, gifts and merch.

We had lunch today here. It was our first time and it definitely will not be our last. We had excellent service and recommendations from Ashley, Raven and Kristy. These girls really know what they’re talking about. We had the house sourdough, house dip and Peruvian BBQ chicken pizza. All were exceptionally delicious. Cannot recommend this place enough.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the metro with high quality and delicious food, plenty of space for kids to run around, great staff and unbeatable ambiance and scenery. This restaurant is extra special in the fall and we brought two larger groups the past two nights for dinner and Alien Encounter event. Everyone had an amazing time and we will definitely be back.
