I love coming there for their combos. Reasonably priced and filling. Don’t expect a Miku high end style restaurant btw! I feel like this place has more choices and they can do substitution like for example you can do brown rice instead of white rice on sushi and no mayo for California roll compared to the previous restaurant we used to go (sushi man)

Good value for money! You see that 3 plates on the photo? That only cost me 18 cad. Orion beer 635ml only costs 11cad. Great service too! a must try!

Yuko Maki has become our family’s go-to place whenever we’re at Lonsdale and want a quick sushi meal. The service is fast, the prices are reasonable, and their longer operating hours set them apart from nearby options. While the staff isn’t overly friendly (don’t expect many smiles), they’re efficient, and we’ve never had issues with the service.

We usually go for their bento boxes, and on our last visit, we ordered the beef teriyaki box, a special sushi roll (which was delicious), and yaki udon. The yaki udon arrived sizzling hot and was a good portion, but the flavor fell a bit short of its appealing presentation. I feel Yuko Maki keeps their flavors more neutral to appeal to a broader audience, which I understand —it ensures everyone feels comfortable dining here.

This neutral environment is one of the reasons we keep coming back. On our last visit, we first considered trying a Korean restaurant just a few shops away. However, while checking out their menu, we felt uneasy—the staff and even some customers inside gave us strange looks, making us feel unwelcome. We decided to skip it and returned to Yuko Maki, where the atmosphere is always inclusive.

Sure, Yuko Maki’s flavors may not always pack a punch, but the reliable food, reasonable prices, and sense of belonging make it a preferable choice for us.

I had the special box with teriyaki beef and also a sushi special . The meals were reasonably priced. Some items were very delicious and some were bland (lacking flavor/seasoning). It is a nice place to sit and eat, the service is fast. I personally found that the tempura lacked seasoning/flavor it was bland however it was very crispy and still okay. The salad was nice and the miso soup was a good starter. The California roll is good. I would eat here again because it is convenient for me in North Vancouver, it’s reasonably priced and the service is fast.

Excellent variety with tons of combo possibilities (love the Super Combo option!). Good quality, great value. They do a really nice Spicy Tuna roll, not overdressed.

Sushi portions are large and price is reasonable.
Fish box is very deep fried but the fish is light and delicious. Mixed combo allows you to pick your roll from California, BC roll or spicy Tuna.
Customer service is below average, they really don’t acknowledge their customers, only fill the tea once and don’t check on you once the food has arrived. Also they brought the food out staggered. I practically finished the sushi combo before the fish box was ready.

A Vancouver city local’s top recommendation.

Since I wasn’t familiar with this part of Vancouver’s food spots I asked a local where to eat good sushi. This place didn’t disappoint. It got pretty busy while we were there but the service kept up. They also had numerous take-out orders being picked up. This spot has good business and people enjoy their food. I thought the food was good. The variety was very nice, and the plating they used was also very nice. In my opinion, their Volcano sushi roll was the best sushi on their menu. I noticed our food came out pretty quick so they must’ve done some preparation to ensure this. I can’t complain about the service, but let’s just say the octopus, salmon, etc. dish wasn’t my ‘cup of tea’.
I would recommend this spot because they have a good variety so you won’t be stuck choosing between this soup or that soup. There are many more options.

We ordered 1x Chicken Teriyaki Combo, 2x small soups, 1x Volcano Sushi roll, and 1x combination sushi plate with octopus, salmon, etc.

This is a very very reasonable price Japanese restaurant in North Van. There are lot of dishes and lunch box combo you can choose from, not only cheap but also it’s very delicious, yet potion was big as well. Overall, excellent, staff are nice and food was fast and environment was just perfect, will visit again shortly.

I went out with my friends for lunch and didn’t get great service, food was good, but when me and my friends went to pay there was no tip option because the lady had already added 10%. Me and my 2 friends all paid 10.50 and the total was 28.33, we all should have only paid 9.44. I know it’s not a big deal it’s a bit off but it was rude and I didn’t enjoy it we left unpleased.
