Finally made it here over the weekend to see what all the hype is about. Tokyo Noir really is a hidden gem! The entrance is tucked down a little alley behind another restaurant, marked only by a glowing red Japanese lantern. The whole space is tiny (I think only 28 seats!), which makes it feel intimate, cozy, and perfect for a slow, intentional cocktail night. They specialize in crafted cocktails with real artistry behind the bar with bartenders carving huge blocks of ice by hand and building drinks with Japanese-inspired ingredients and layers of flavor. Drinking here feels more like a thoughtful, culinary experience rather than a casual night out.

We came as a party of 5 and tried a bunch of drinks and food:

Cocktails:
Astro Boy – Citrus and floral. Pretty, but not for me.
Drunken Tiger – You can definitely taste the layers: veggie, herbal, bitter, sweet. If you appreciate depth and nuance, this is your drink.
Juice Theory – SO good we ordered it four times. Absolutely delicious!
Hibiki Old Fashioned – My order. Gorgeous presentation and I loved watching the bartender carve the ice… but the giant ice block made it a little hard to sip from the glass lol.
Ichiro Old Fashioned – My boyfriend’s pick. He really enjoyed this one.
Manila Killa – Had to represent the Filipina in me! I was waiting for that calamansi punch, but sadly it fell flat.
Dirty Soba – Hahahaha. My boyfriend’s twin ordered this and we all tried it… it legit tasted like soup. They designed it to mimic Japanese soba broth, so mission accomplished?? He didn’t like it and the server swapped it out.
Initial B – My boyfriend’s drink. I assumed the banana note would be weird, but it surprisingly works!

One thing worth noting is that they are not flexible on modifying cocktails. My girlfriend tried ordering one of the N/A drinks with hard liquor added and they said no. Whatever their reasoning, just be mindful before you go.

Food:
Wasabi Fries – A hit with the whole party.
Deviled Egg – Not bad.
Nagoya Wings – Everyone enjoyed these. Very big wings!
Corn – Corn “ribs.” Tiny and not for me.
Yuzu & Eel Roll – Great rolls!
Hamachi Sashimi- light and refreshing.
Crispy Rice- Good.

We came here intending to have dinner and drinks, but believe them when they say the food is true tapas-style portions. I’d recommend eating elsewhere first and coming here specifically for cocktails and the experience. They only had one server for the entire room plus two bartenders, but honestly we still received great service. The vibe is intimate, moody, and elevated. It’s perfect for date night or a chill night out with friends who appreciate craft cocktails.

Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely return just for drinks. Tokyo Noir is unique, creative, and worth checking out at least once especially if you love Japanese flavors and speakeasy-style bars.

YES. I went and had the best date ever. The menu has custom art for each drink and personalities to match. The food was amazing, we ordered the hashimi twice. I would go back in a heart beat. Inside where the bathrooms are is a little photo booth. We capped our date night with photo strips and very full stomachs.

I’m extremely happy. As a sober girly, my mocktails were delicious. DO make a reservation.

We went here for our 10th wedding anniversary. It was our first time. The ambiance was really nice. The food was very good and the drinks were even better. However, we felt rushed through the Tokyo Noir experience and for much of what you pay for IS the experience. The problem is that our reservation was at 10pm. When we arrived, we waited outside the venue for 12 mins while the server set up our table. By the time we sat down, it was last call for food, and at 11:15 it was last call for drinks. I wanted more time to relax. Everything around us was so amazing! The bartender was mixing drinks with passion and excitement. The folks around us were enjoying their time together. The music was funky 90s hip hop and rap. It was a beautiful evening. I didn’t want it to end. So to be reminded upon arrival, through drinks and meals, and as our plates were hurriedly being cleared (seriously.. I had three more fries on my plate that I wanted to eat) that it was coming to an end.. I felt sad. We promised ourselves that we will be back. Yes, we will definitely return. If you want a full experience, though, I recommend you book reservations before 9pm. It was our luck we got a reservation, and we’re glad and very grateful for the time spent. :))

Absolutely phenomenal experience at this hidden Japanese speakeasy in Long Beach! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt exclusive and intimate — like being transported straight to Tokyo nightlife.
Our hostess and server, Jasmine, was beyond exceptional. She greeted us warmly, made sure we felt comfortable the entire night, and had such a genuine, welcoming energy. She was attentive without being intrusive, gave great recommendations, and really elevated the whole experience with her charm and professionalism.

And Jacob, our bartender, deserves major recognition. Every cocktail he made was perfectly balanced — rich in flavor, beautifully presented, and crafted with clear attention to detail. You could tell he’s passionate about mixology and takes pride in every drink he serves.

Together, Jasmine and Jacob created an experience that felt personal, refined, and unforgettable. If you’re looking for an elegant, intimate spot with world-class drinks and service that makes you feel like a VIP, this is the place to go. 10/10 — highly recommend and will absolutely be back

It has this Tokyo bar vibe that can only hold a few people. Wouldn’t let us in until right at 10pm so keep that in mind if it’s late bc there’s nothing else out there.
There were several birthdays so they made shots for everyone. Food and drinks came out quick.
Not sure if was an off night, but service felt off. It was a vibe setting, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back.

Truly world class in every way. I was glad someone suggested seating at the bar to watch the artistry of the drinks as they were made. The flavors were incredibly well balanced and appreciated. We absolutely enjoyed each of the well crafted drinks. The care that goes into shaping the ice by hand for each drink is wonderful to watch. It’s a true speakeasy setting, and the entry is easy to miss if you don’t know it’s there. Look for the Japanese lantern suspended above the mural in the alleyway. We will definitely be coming back.

Reservations are mandatory. Which is a good thing otherwise I would be here all the time. The drinks were amazing. The ambience is cool. This is a fantastic date spot. A themed speakeasy hidden down an alleyway. Inside is cozy and intimate, probably couldn’t fit more than 20 people if that. Prices were good for custom crafted cocktails. I’m kind of surprised it wasn’t more expensive.

Tiny little “Speakeasy” though definitely not a true speakeasy, the ambience and quality of food and beverages is on point, could be better on several levels but this is USA so I’ll recommend it as a good place to escape the ordinary and chill for a minute (literally)
Beware, they have a 90 minute limit per table or barstool so that may seem like a mood killer for some people but that’s how it is in Japanese boutique style lounges.
Give it a try, they do have a decent selection of Japanese whiskey but you won’t find anything from Hibiki on the shelf.

We enjoyed the food & drinks here! We ordered the corn dogs, perfect small bite. For drinks, we got the kaiju, juice theory, it g ma, and monochrome. Kaiju and it g ma were our favorites. Ambiance was great too.
The one thing I would’ve liked is that our server gave us a reminder 30 mins before that our time was ending. We would’ve ordered another drink tbh, but we lost track of time lol and our server didn’t come around often (to be fair, he seemed VERY busy and might’ve been the main one taking orders for every table).
Can’t wait to return and try more of their drinks!

Perfect date night spot! Intimate and low-key, with a delicious and wide range of cocktail options. We sat at the bar, so had a front row seat to the mixologist artistry. Food and drinks were wonderful, and we were well looked after even though the place was full and busy. We were even gifted an extra drink on the house ( yuzu strawberry ) Forgot to take pictures of everything because we were too busy enjoying/devoured it too fast haha But here are the Kaiju, Astro Boy, and First Love, all excellent and refreshing.
Look forward to returning and sharing with friends!
