I grew up going to Monica’s. I’ve always loved it. Yesterday was a horrible experience. We were seated relatively quick to our arrival only to be met by no wait staff for over 15 minutes once at the table. Appetizer and pizza was delivered to our table fresh and hot.

The last 3 times ive ordered from this store the Pekin location which were all delivery and in the last few months they’ve messed my order up added things on pizza I never ordered and left things off that I did ive called and spoke to a different manager i feel each time been male and female. Promised a replacement sent via mail and never received one EVERY SINGLE TIME. The Pekin location needs to do better I have never had and issue at any other location ever.

Walked in, was greeted and was sitting in a booth with menu’s in seconds. Server followed behind quickly and took our drink orders. When she came back we placed our order. She always made sure the drinks were filled. When pizza was bought out piping hot. Prefect amount of toppings then smothered with cheese.

I’ve been going to this Monical’s my whole life and very rarely have had a bad experience! This is my favourite pizza in the world. I love in Oklahoma now but whenever I’m back in Illinois I HAVE to have a Monical’s run. My go to is a family pleaser with black olives and mushrooms on my pizza. My husband got sausage, pepperoni, and jalapeños which he liked. There French dressing is my favourite!! I wish they had Monical’s here in Oklahoma but it definitely makes it a special treat when I come back home.

We had a party of 8 people celebrating a family member’s birthday on a Friday night. We were seated within a reasonable time and our server greeted us pretty promptly, asking for drinks orders. After bringing drinks we ordered our food – 2 separate orders. The salad and bread sticks for the one order came out fairly quickly. Then we waited. It seemed like it took an unusual long time for 2 pizzas. Then when they came there were tons of onions and green peppers piled mostly in the center. One pizza was supposed to be half without onions and peppers. There was hardly any sauce on the pizza and there just really wasn’t much flavor overall. Our server had said she would be right back with parmesan cheese and hot sauce for our pizza, so we waited a few minutes before starting to eat. She never did come back and must have forgotten because the next time she came back to check on us, we were almost finished eating. There was no point in bringing the parmesan and hot sauce at that point, which is too bad because it would have likely helped with the flavor. Our checks were brought to the table, but no one came back to get them, so we weren’t sure if we were supposed to pay the server or pay up front. I had cash and needed change for the tip, so I waited. The person with the other check went up front since he was paying with a card. I finally got the attention of another server who went and got our server so I could pay and get change.
As far as the atmosphere of the restaurant goes, it was clean and decorated nicely. However, it was freezing in there! We were seated in a back room, so maybe it was just that area, but the A/C was definitely working! A little TOO well.

We had a large party of 20 people. We called ahead and our seating area was setup and ready to go when we arrived. Our server did an amazing job getting drink orders and providing activities for the kids to do while we got ready to order. We ordered our pizzas and salads. Everything came out very quickly. The food was great and our server continued to be very attentive. All in all, it was a perfect experience!

Ordered thru the online system at 1pm. Went thru checkout & it said my 1 pizza would be delivered (4.6miles) at 250pm. That kinda blew my mind and made me almost tryn cancel my order but I decided to wait. Well, the estimated time was WAAAY off and the pizza came in about 50mins.. a good thing!
Pizza was still steaming hot when I opened the package. Another good thing!!!
Downsides, I ordered EXTRA toppings and it really looked like it wasn’t very much more than the REGULAR toppings. For example the EXTRA pepperoni pizza had about 4 or 5 more pieces than the REGULAR one. Definitely not worth the extra charge.
The pizza is cut into tiny squares about the size of a passport photo. Literally 2″x2″. I don’t mind small pieces but a little bigger than a $0.25 piece is pretty ridiculous.
Overall I liked the taste of the pizza. I didn’t really like the business model of skimping on the paid for EXTRA toppings. And I wasn’t really feeling the pizza roll bite sized pieces of pizza.

We love Monicals and usually have a good experience at any location we visit. We happened to be in Pekin yesterday, so we stopped in to enjoy some pizza. The staff was great. We had amazing service, probably the best we have had from any Monicals we have been to. From taking our order, receiving our food, and refilling our drinks, service was very quick, accurate and everyone was friendly and courteous.
