La Carreta in Jamestown is a little piece of Mexico right in North Dakota!
From the very first moment, you’re welcomed with warmth and smiles, and the aroma of freshly prepared dishes instantly transports you to sunny Mexico. Every visit is a celebration for the soul: the fajitas, burritos, enchiladas, and tacos are incredibly flavorful and generous, and the sides and fresh salsas make every bite pure joy.

The atmosphere is warm and friendly, making you want to linger for hours, enjoying the food, music, and company of loved ones. La Carreta is a place you want to return to again and again, to feel joy, comfort, and true Mexican passion ❤️

If you want to immerse yourself in the spirit of Mexico and enjoy food made with heart — go here. It’s an experience that stays in your heart forever! ✨

¡Gracias por la comida maravillosa y por el personal tan amable!

Food is hit and miss. Most of the time it’s bland. There are items on the menu that they don’t even serve.

Super slow service, sometimes takes over an hour to get your food. The staff is mostly smug.

Kinda just bad management. Better service and flavor would justify the high cost.

Really, it’s not even authentic Mexican food. The workers are mostly from Central America. I think the good reviews are from people who don’t really know.

No go. Disgusting tacos. Pastor is made of steak not pork like why and tastes like bbq sauce. This place is made for people that don’t know what’s food. If you guys have eaten Mexican food just don’t come around you’ll waste your money and time.

Fairly standard Mexican restaurant and menu. Service was attentive. Food and margaritas were good. Spicy food, but not too spicy. Prices were reasonable. A nice alternative to the bar and grill options in this town.

Meal was OK but wasn’t freshly cooked. Meat dried out; service- had to ask for things, and restaurant cleanliness wasn’t the best. Extra Salsa and Chips are charged as well as an extra plate! Tried it once.

Ordered #3 Beef Taco, Chicken Enchilada & Chili Relleno.
Chicken was Dry and very Tough, taco was good. Chili Relleno was served as 1 a little piece of pepper cover in Meat and Cheese. When I told the waiter about it he brought me the whole pepper, Then told me that I need to ask for it that way, I said No you need to inform the customers about that.
Here’s what it looks like…
One waiter does everything out front.

I wasn’t expecting some top notch or pure authentic Mexican restaurant, but for there to only be two in town it could be better. I’d honestly rather go to Taco Bell. Water taste like sink water, my margarona (with beer in it) was mostly beer. Normally you nearly fill the margarita bowl, then turn over a full beer in it. I got a beef chimichanga. It was shredded not ground and it was tough. I left over half of it on the plate and I do NOT waste food. Tasted like dog food. The rice was great though. The person with me had the steak burrito it was better tasting, but the meat and other inner ingredients were nearly burnt as well, maybe I caught them on a bad day but I won’t be trying again to catch them on a good one. The place wasn’t packed at all and waiting 10+ minutes for drink refills and the bill is ridiculous.

Would give zero star if I could! Awful food, no flavor & tasted old. Had two bites out of burrito & left the rest. Did not bother to bring home for the dog. Paradiso Mexican restaurant is across highway 281 from here.

Excellent Mexican food in Jamestown, ND!
I enjoyed the Fajitas Mazatlan.
Mexican music played in the restaurant is a nice touch and adds to the ambiance.
Waiter Juan was pleasant, however the hostess, although clearly not a native North Dakotan, displayed the usual demeanor of wishing she was anywhere else but there and wished I would leave.
Definitely recommend for the good food, decor, and music.
