I’ve tried to like this place but alas, this will be the last time I try. I can see the charm and love of this local bar but I enjoy edible and thoughtful food versus convenience of location. I visited today for lunch with hubby. Hadn’t been here in two years or more and I had the taste for a Reuben sandwich and tasty fries. Husband got a meatloaf sandwich? I wish I took a picture because it was the saddest looking thing. One piece of cheese cut in half, congealed in appearance which made it look so sad. The bread was toasted but looked very dry. Served with an awful tasting marinara sauce that would arguably cover just half of the sandwich. He used ketchup instead. Mind you, the ketchup bottles are Heinz glass bottles that are washed and refilled? It clearly says that they are for single use only and not to be refilled. That is a nasty practice and shouts cheapness on the ownership side. I asked for packets for my fries and Reuben. On to my Reuben, tough and rubbery pastrami. That sandwich was fighting me with each small bite. I had to stop eating it. My husband ate his whole plate and I ate my fries and the server never stopped by to check on us the whole time. Very sweet server but she walked by a couple times and never acknowledged us because if she would had, I would had ordered a club. I ate the fries and said I would pay for them and they actually made me lol! What a joke. I don’t mind that but as a GM for over two decades, those fries should had been on the house. Oh well, misses all around for me so unless I’m going for drinks with a friend who actually requested me to join them here, I’m staying away for good. No pictures because it was just sad enough.

I was there with a group of six on a prime Saturday evening and the place was packed. The waitress was most accommodating and pleasant. However, she had to apologize multiple times as our drink order didn’t arrive until after the appetizers and main course arrived. The food was quite good but the bar was woefully slow. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, just keep the drink order simple and be prepared for a possible wait for the sippies! (Melito’s, you need to hire more adequate staff for the busier nights!!!!)

My husband and I wanted to try their famous hotdogs. What a disappointment! We got the Junkyard dogs and fries. Mostly bun and coleslaw. The fries tasted like the freezer kind you buy in the grocery store. The restaurant was so cold that we couldn’t get comfortable. We would not go back.

It’s a great local place. Lots of dinner specials. They are definitely a step up from bar food. They also have some very simple meals like two hot dogs. In good weather there’s an outside dining area. There’s also a back room for private dining of us small group.

Lunch experience was overall great. Promptly seated, fast and friendly service. Waitress frequently made sure everything was up to par. Straight forward menu and ordering process. Food didn’t take long to come out and was overall excellent. Highly recommended.

What a great place! We came for lunch, there was no wait and we were greeted and sat right away. The staff is very friendly and happy to suggest food to try. The interior is cozy with an old school feel. The food was very very good. I tried the regular hot dog and the junkyard dog – both were excellent. My wife had the “Rachel”, which was also excellent. The kids menu is a bit pricey but the portions are pretty big so we didn’t mind paying a bit more. All in all I highly recommend visiting Melito’s for lunch or dinner. You’ll be happy you did.

A real down-home place. Went here for a work dinner with 10 or 12 people. They had us seated in the private back room which was nice as we could have the door closed to all the noise from the rest of the restaurant. Our server Mindy was incredibly attentive and still checked on us often, making sure everyone’s needs were met. Apps (black bean cakes, crab dip, pesto flatbread) were all yummy and I enjoyed my ribeye which was cooked perfectly (medium and crispy on the outside) with some well-seasoned sides. They were very respectful of our party and let us take our time with our meals.
