The tacos were super bomb, we had the From the Ocean tacos (changes daily) and Barbacoa, as well as hibiscus teas. The chef also was kind enough to split those for us. Courteous in his customer service and communication and really, these might have been the best taco’s I’ve ever had, full of flavor and really well balanced with different seasonings and toppings. Just remember, it’s located on the beach, so if you’re confused about arriving at Moonlight Beach, it’s at the building that says “concessions.”

Amazing beach dining outdoor views on the beach!! Free parking lot above it, with lots of street parking too. Loved their food menu. Order at the cashier, and eat on the beach. There’s plenty of concrete picnic tables off the sand and on the sand.
Overall, love that we can dine on the sand like that! Restrooms are also very clean. I’m definitely bookmarking this beach to visit again. I bet it’s packed on the weekends and such.
Pork plate! The pork was overly saucy but still a great deal, and not bad. Our friend liked his curry tacos too. We visited on a Wednesday 12pmish in mid Oct 65F weather, on the way toward East SD. It was empty, amazing scenery, lots of free parking and seating. Good amount of surfers in the water, and people setup on the sand.

Go to the beach. Eat lunch. What more do you want? This place looks like all you’re going to find is a sno cone or pretzel, but it is actuall a gourmet taco stand! Today had some poke tacos and the were comparable to the view, which is no small feat given the location…I will be a regular!

The Potato Curry Tacos are delicious! I said to hold the queso blanco, and I was offered avocado instead to make the tacos vegan. I LOVE that I didn’t even have to ask. I will be back for these whenever I go to Moonlight Beach.
For breakfast they also have an avocado toast that looks pretty special – but hold the feta if you want it animal-free.

Nice spot that offers delicious tacos next to the Pacific Ocean!! Loved the slow braised barbacoa tacos – lots of flavorful meat and a decent amount of fresh avocado. Yellow curry potato tacos were great too! The two tacos were a good and satisfying meal. I wish they would be a bit cheaper than $15-16 for a pair of tacos. But worth it for the quality and amazing location ❤️

Amazing take out stand right on Moonlight beach! We had breakfast and had some delicious smoked salmon and garden avocado toasts, as well as a bacon egg and cheese. Not too long to wait and plenty of dog friendly seating on the beach. Absolutely beautiful views. Highly recommend a visit!

The operator of this restaurant is one of the coolest people. Always friendly and accommodating. And that’s not even mentioning the quality of the food which is AMAZING. The wolf dog is a truly elevated hot dog which makes this beach experience just that much better. Pulled pork, bacon and other toppings just hit the spot. Love this place. Try it out.

This place has no right being as good as it is. I had the barbacoa tacos and my mother had the carnitas sandwich.
They were both so delicious!

Carnitas tacos were perfectly created. They were flavorful and ingredients were combined well. The tortillas tasted home made. My husband loved his wolf dog. The service was excellent! The employee taking the order was very polite and on task. He took his job seriously. Very pleasant experience!

My favorite place to eat in Encinitas whether it’s breakfast, lunch or supper!! And yes , it’s a beach concession stand! Who would ever think such good quality food, right? The Beach Wolf breakfast sandwich has such amazing flavors, and made with quality meats, eggs and sauces, just wow can’t describe the flavors! And to eat at the beach with the views! My husband (a coffee connoisseur) complimented on the quality of the coffee! Can’t beat this place!
