Decent little spot for casual Japanese dishes and sushi. Every dish was well made and the flavors tasted just right. Fish was fresh, shrimp tempura was light and crunchy with flavorful dipping sauce, house salad hits the spot, altogether a pleasant dinner.

We walked in and the place is incredibly SMALL like no room to maneuver the restaurant. They handed us dirty menus and dirty water cups. If they can’t even bother to clean menus and water cups…imagine what else isn’t clean. We decided to do a kids size hibachi, just to try because we didn’t want to commit to try a full plate as we were skeptical of their menu honestly. And was told no, and respectfully we just left. Before me and my sisters could walk out the establishment the server was talking about us in her language with other workers. Won’t be returning! 🙂

I ate the Fresh Salmon sushi roll but also had taste tests of the chicken fried rice, Kani Salad and some other rolls.

For a fast sushi it is fairly good. Not a dinning experience but decent sushi is served.

Cute little hole in the wall sushi place! The service was great, and the food was good! Very good if you want to get away from the crowds by the beach. The chicken hibachi was a hit and I really enjoyed the sweet potato roll.

Umai to us is not just a restaurant, it’s an experience. A wonderful one that is. Umai has been the one place we go to escape everything and just enjoy great food and even more amazing service. Everyone here is so sweet, hardworking and really dedicated to make every guest a wonderful delicious meal. Every time we leave here we are always 10 times more happy then when we walked in. I’m really disappointed in the portion size. 18$ for a roll and only given 4 pieces is wrong. (Mind you I ate one before taking the picture). I didn’t mind waiting an hour for the food but there is no way that’s a fair portion for an 18$ roll.
