Hands down the best McDonald’s in SD. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, which is rare for fast food. My order is always hot, fresh, and those fries? Perfect. Highly recommend this location if you want quality service with a smile!

My stomach turns every time I’m told to “pull into a parking spot.” At this location, two minutes somehow turns into half an hour — every single time. The level of inefficiency is beyond unacceptable.
This McDonald’s consistently delivers the worst service I have ever experienced. Orders take excessively long, staff show little urgency or courtesy, and there seems to be a complete lack of competent management. The entire operation either needs a full staff overhaul and new leadership, or it should make way for a different food chain capable of meeting basic customer service standards.
It’s incredibly disappointing that this is the only drive-through option on base, leaving those stationed or working here with no alternative. Our service members and personnel deserve far better than this. Hopefully, someone in charge takes this seriously and initiates real change.

I went in for a quick meal at around 2:30am and waited for my order to be ready. They called my number around 2:45am. I was missing 1 burger so I informed them and they placed the burger in the bag. I double checked my order and realized the fries were brown in color, cold and no flavor. So I asked for fresh fries, the lady at the front desk said sure. So I left my bag in the counter and walked away. I didn’t get the new fries until 3:00am and when I received them I noticed they were the same fries just more oily. I notified the lady at the front desk and she immediately tossed them to the trash and actually opened a new bag of fries to cook. She notified the other lady who initially took the first batch of fries to give me large fries. She responded by saying “why do you want to give him large fries” and she informed her because of the inconvenience. But she kept saying just give him the 2 small fries. I ended up getting the large fries which were fresh, golden and freshly salted. I told her that these fries were actually fresh and that she just put the old fries to heat up and it wasn’t right. She never apologized but said the cameras are here so you could see I put a fresh batch of fries. So please I just ask that the footage be reviewed and that worker be supervised because this isn’t the first incident with her. The other incident was in the drive through when she was taking my order and she was laughing and kept saying wait what was your order again? I understand we are in a military base but the least they can do is stay professional even in the morning hours and treat the customers with respect. I wish I could provide photos of the fries before they tossed them to the trash.

Ordered dine in. We received table number but got called up to the front to pick up food. I don’t think they offer table service. The restaurant seems dirty, except for the table tops. There are spider webs on the inside and the floor has cigarette butts on it. Sees like it needs new management.

Went for lunch and ordered at the kiosk. I was the first of my group of four to order and four others ordered after me. I waited for more than 20 mins but didn’t get food. Everyone that ordered after me received their order. I asked to a refund because I was going to be late and the guy that refunded me did not refund my full amount. When I asked him about it, he looked confused as to why the refund amount did not match the amount I spent. It was less than a dollar so I just said forget about it and left.

They left me waiting 45 minutes in the drive thru. They took my money at the first window and didn’t say a thing about the wait. At the second window, then they tell me to go to park and wait more. Went inside to get a refund, and it was bedlam. There was no one in charge, no focus.

Very nice in the mornings actually. Wasn’t expecting it to be that inviting. Although the storm did make the area feel gray, inside McDonald’s is all color.
Decided to eat breakfast here and it was worth it, I was full just by eating half of what I ordered….
Really nice speed on the serving and prepping, really convenient when you just want to eat something…
All in all, 10/10 would recommend 🙂

So the 24 hour drive-thru sign is a lie and they switch to cash only for a few hours every night. Not sure if they realize that they’re on a military base or not. Hate to give a low rating because the day crew definitely cares, but the night crew needs to step up their game.
Edit: had to go inside because the curbside app didn’t work… Wish I didn’t. Food all over every table, trash cans were overflowing and lettuce everywhere.
