Trung Nam Bakery is absolutely worth the hype. When you walk in, the first thing you notice is the incredible aroma of fresh baked banh mi, and if that doesn’t make you instantly hungry I don’t know what will. I was very impressed with the Deluxe Banh Mi, they were prepared in advance but still super fresh and the bread was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Great ratio of filling to bread, fantastic textures and some good heat from the sliced jalapenos. We also snagged a few croissants and Vietnamese coffees with sweetened condensed milk, but for me the Deluxe Banh Mi was the star of the show. We ended up going back to buy two more to take with us on the plane ride home!

We’re had to try and support our local French Bakery! We got the chocolate, raspberry, and strawberry croissants and also the cinnamon and sugar palmiers and all were delicious. The croissants were light and flaky with the perfect weight! Staff were super friendly- We’ll be back for coffees and sandwiches next time 10/10!!

Best croissants in the cities! My dad took me and my brother to Trung Nam when we were kids in the 90s and it’s been our favorite bakery ever since. The blueberry croissants are my favorite and they have different flavors like apricot, almond, coconut, apple, etc. There’s a parking lot and the location is convenient, right on University Avenue. Service is friendly and efficient. Get there early though, before they run out! Yum

Purchased a couple of croissants. They were good. Not the best but acceptable. There wasn’t much of a variety but it could of been the time of the morning (late morning).

Great croissants which are both fairly priced and quite tasty. I stopped in this morning and picked up a coconut croissant. It was soft and a little crunchy on top. It had this shiny glaze on top which was great too. The filling was subtle and not overpowering. They also have their own parking lot so you can make a quick pit stop in the morning or stay and eat it there since they have indoor seating as well.

Got small baguettes and they were great to make banh mi at home and they were delicious! Very reasonable price at $1.25 a piece. Easy to reheat as well.

The croissants were great – texture, flavor, and reasonably priced. So flaky and addicting!
The specialty ones could use more filling, but they were still solid. They have the plain croissant I can remember eating
I wasn’t a huge fan of the banh mi, but it wasn’t bad by any means. Just didn’t stand out against other places. I would highly recommend stopping in if you have a croissant itch to scratch

BEST CROISSANT in Minnesota! Tried croissants that are pricier and in nicer bakeries, but they never satisfied me the way these do.
This place is more for take-out and their hours are limited. Sometimes there’s a sign that says they’ve run out before they’ve closed. It makes me sad, but it’s okay. That means they’re doing well and they deserve that. This is a small business and they’ve been doing this for a long time.
I really appreciate the consistency of the flavors of the baked goods and it still tastes the same since I was a kid.

This place with recommended to me by a couple of friends and I had a great experience. The banh mi and the croissants were delicious. I had the strawberry, chocolate, and regular (butter) croissants. I think this place has one of the best banh mi around. I definitely will come back. There’s parking on-site, and a big sign out front.

Wonderful bakery. The atmosphere is so homely and welcoming. The staff are also super sweet and informative. Fast service too!
We got a plain croissant and a raspberry croissant. Both were fantastic! At such a reasonable price too.
The croissants were airy, light and buttery. Probably one of the best croissants I’ve had. Highly recommend if you are in St Paul!
