Waited over 3 hours for my food. Called and they really rudely said I have to wait and they have no drivers. Told me to come and collect it, in a very rude manner. Why take orders when you have no delivery drivers? They then stopped picking up the phone and no communication. Total joke. Do not use as the service is appalling.Food has arrived with no apology whatsoever. It’s cold, and the butter chicken has a layer of cream poured over some other curry. It’s not even mixed in. Greasy and gross.

Ordered for delivery – advised 45 mins – chased after 90 mins. Still no delivery, called 4 times before answered the call to get a “yeah 1 minute”…nearly two hours from ordering it arrived. Most the items were barely luke warm so I can only imagine our order was forgotten somewhere. No apologies at any point. The saag aloo was delicious as was the lamb byrianis (after microwaving) but the overall experience overrides a few good dishes.

I ordered Paneer and Mushroom Rice, but the dish was very disappointing. There were only 3 pieces of paneer and it was mostly onions. The menu mentioned that the dish would be spicy, but it was actually very sweet. Overall, the quality and taste did not match the description. Not satisfied with this order.

Had a sudden pregnancy craving for a saucy curry. Specified a few times when ordering (for delivery) that I wanted plenty of sauce and that’s what I got! Was so spicy and tasty and so much sauce. Absolutely perfect (Vegetable madras). The meat samosas are very nice too. Thanks guys!!!

Terrible experience at Margate Tandoori. We were the first seated customers when it opened that day, but we had to wait over 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive to the table (after reminding the waitress as she brought out our starters). We proceeded to watch several people arrive to pick up takeaway orders whilst our mains took 1.5 hours to come out. Bearing in mind we were still the only seated customers during this time period. When another group of customers arrived wanting a table, we sat and saw how they were ignored for 10 minutes while the waitress answered phone calls- these calls included customers who were calling to ask where their food was as it was delayed.
Our plates and glasses were not clean, and the tables and chairs are cheap Argos style furniture that I have never seen a restaurant have.
The food was mediocre and lacked flavour and certainly was not worth the wait or price. We were there for a total of 3 hours with a baby, when we expected to be there for 2 hours or less. Overall a strange and disappointing experience.

Great food. Had the Dhaka Special and the Tandoori chicken (which comes in a hotplate), both excellent. Very friendly service. Busy and a nice, and varied, crowd.
Good location, a short walk from Old Town, in Northdown Road. Can do BYO drinks. Will be going back regularly.

I visit Margate about twice a year and always used to go to The Golden Curry. There’s been a generational change recently, and the new owner (I think his name is Makboh) is really friendly and welcoming.
I went there with my young daughter, and we both really enjoyed the food — tasty, creamy, and not too spicy, so great for kids or anyone who prefers milder flavours. Of course, you can still go for a vindaloo or something hotter if you like.
They don’t serve alcohol, but you can just pop next door to the corner shop to buy a beer or whatever you prefer — they’ll happily give you a glass for it.
All in all, the food was delicious, the service friendly, and we’ll definitely be coming back again!

I cannot believe the service I have recieved tonight, 2hrs 40mins later…. A dish missing and most of it is cold and full of oil! Naan bread seems to be nooked in microwave. Everytime I called I was told 10mins, I will call you back. No phone call back. My husband walks down to the restaurant to find it not busy and for them to say it’s just left…. Yet it still took another 10mins to get to me and
Im not far. Ruined an anniversary night in. Husband walks back into the shop to say this ain’t on not only the food 2hrs and 40mins late half’s cold and a dish is missing I would like refund… they stand and argue with him, calling him a liar regarding missing dish.
£68 down the Swany! Won’t be going here or recommending them for sure.

Had a lovely meal here after visiting the Escape Rooms next door. Got a friendly welcome and excellent service. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. A good range of vegetarian and vegan options too. I’d highly recommend Margate Tandoori and would certainly visit again if I’m in the area. Thank you!

on a windy monday evening in November. Trying to find a curry house that was a: open and b: that was busy. We came across Margate tandoori absolutely empty, but open and had a few good online reviews. Won’t go anywhere else for a ruby in Margate now! absolutely lovely food, plenty of it and an attentive host. Seriously worth a visit if you’re in the area. 10 out of 10 for us
