I’m honestly just so sad about my food order. I can’t believe it. I ordered three caldos, and I can’t even enjoy my chicken caldo. Maybe I’m just too Mexicanized to appreciate the way they prepare it, but I just can’t. I paid $62 for two chicken and one beef caldo (included a $10 tip for takeout, which I think is more than fair).
I cooked Michoacán dishes for 14 years, and I can’t even call this Mexican food. Not even Mexican-American, because even a Chicana knows the veggies and the meat simmer together with the broth so everything gets infused with flavor. I’m Chicana and I I’m all for smarter more efficient, but not with a dish as simple as a caldo.
This caldo tastes like bland packaged broth a hospital would serve. The veggies are half cooked, still hard, with no flavor. The shredded chicken breast tastes like it was boiled separately, dry and chewy. And honestly… it makes me want to cry. It’s cold outside and all I wanted was a warm, comforting caldo.
The rice tastes like it was refrigerated and reheated. The corn tastes unwashed. It’s all so disappointing because I really wanted this to be good. I live around the corner, this could’ve been my go to spot.
But tonight, it just wasn’t it.

Went for a lunch during work and it did not disappoint. The service was exceptional and the food was well seasoned and great presentation. They give Casa Don Juan across the street a run for their money. The decor is unique and the vibe plays well for a business lunch. Atmosphere took a hit because it has a little too much natural lighting for my liking. Other than that they are doing everything right. Highly recommend!

Wow, so grateful for this place in my neighborhood! The food is amazing, made with care and authenticity. Service is friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming. Fresh squeezed orange juice mimosa gets two thumbs up, and fresh lime juice & agave margarita gets four thumbs up. We have been twice so far, and looking forward to many return visits!

I had no idea what I was walking into when I came in here, my girl and I just wanted Cabeza tacos and this was the only place out of 5 near us that served them. Honestly, such a pleasant experience. The Cabeza and Lengua was delicious, every staff member was friendly and provided great service, the decor is incredible, and they even had live music! Can’t wait to come here again.

I had the Chilaquiles, with eggs and carne asada.
It was a large portion, with a steak bigger than any place I have seen lately for this dish.
