Stopped here on a Saturday evening & I’ll be honest I was a little skeptical. The place is clean – but we were only the 1 of 3 tables so in my mind I was thinking of all reasons of why no one was coming here… Man was I SO wrong about this place. The service is great, food came out fast, and holy heavens above it was delicious. If you are not eating here for date night then you’re doing it alllll wrong!!

Absolutely the best sushi in the Midwest! We read the reviews and they were spot on. Super fresh ingredients, amazing service. Ken was awesome, recommending the very best combos of flavor. We will be back with friends. Can’t wait till next time! !!!

I have had the Bento boxes and the sushi and both were very good. We were acknowledged and seated quickly. After given some time with menu (you will need it they have tons of options) the waiter got our order and delivered it correctly. Large portions and my wife and I ate lunch (bento box and 2 sushi rolls 2 non-alcoholic drinks) for 25 bucks.

This place is over priced for what you get, I would recommend Ohana’s on university. The chicken was over cooked, the steak was under cooked, they tried to dupe the whole table out of the shrimp appetizer they offer with their $30.00 meals. It wasn’t a personal experience, and it wasn’t fun. The chef was not trained well and didn’t have any personality. They offered me desert instead of the shrimp appetizer. I declined and asked for a discount, these cheap asses gave me a dollar off my 120.00 tab. Overall it hurt me to pay them the money, but I will never be back.

Looks Great from the outside, we were the only ones in there on a Tuesday night, should have been a clue to turn around and leave. We sat at the sushi bar. The waitress was terrible, we had to ask for water, and napkins. After we ate, we decided we wanted one more roll. Since our waitress wasn’t coming around, we just asked the sushi chef, to make our roll. When he was done making our roll, he asked us for our dirty plates, and put our New roll on the dirty plate and gave it back to us, REALLY!?!?!?!?!!! Needless to say we will NOT be going back.

No words were spoken when our food was dropped off. Kinda weird.
After dinner I stood, put my coat on and stared at our server who was fiddling on her phone in plain view of the dining room for at least 10 minutes while we waited for our check. Hope your luck is better.

Great food and unique for the Des Moines area. The prices are very fair for the quality. I would suggest one thing, keep your window at the storefront cleaner. We almost drove by thinking it was closed for business. May want to put a large lighted sign in one of the windows or dress it up a bit to look more active. I will return as I have many times before.

Wow. That was so bad it was almost unreal. We were literally the only 2 people in the whole place. Took awhile to be greated once we were seated. we had our order ready by time he first showed up. We order chicken teriyaki and 3 sushi rolls. 20 minutes later we are brought out a plate of chicken. He asked what kind of rice we wanted, we said fried, he said it would be another 5 minutes for it. I swear to you, we waited another 45 minutes for our 3 sushi rolls. Our drinks were empty sitting at the edge of the table the ENTIRE time. I’m baffled how when there is only one table in the whole place, a server can be so horrible. What a nightmare.

Food was great, but the service was absolutely horrendous…almost to the point of being comical. Went with a bday group of 10. They had a reservation, but took 20 minutes to even be acknowledged, and it wasnt busy. Another 15 minutes for the waitress to come over. Then another 15 minutes to get our menus. We got our drinks an hour after being there and food after an hour and half. Were there for just over 2 hours. Would not go back because of the horrible service. Too bad because the food was good.

I got the squid salad and the Sea Coast Roll, and now I’m addicted. My kids 10 & 12 love the squid salad and several of the rolls. The restaurant is very clean, and the staff is very friendly!….I highly recommend it!
