Popeyes in Newark delivers on flavor—5 ⭐️ for perfectly seasoned chicken and crispy sides that hit the spot every time.
On atmosphere, I’d give it 2 ⭐️: uneven lighting left parts of the dining area feeling dark and uninviting. The original floor shows its age, and the furniture didn’t match the vibe of the wall paint, advertisements, or metal signage. The counter on the right as you walk in was slightly discolored, though the front ordering counter and food prep area were clean and well-maintained.
They should take pointers from the Wendy’s next door—great vibe over there with clean lines and a welcoming atmosphere! #PaulEverHome @BayAreaWithPaul

I cant say how disappointed I am about my expeience. Yesterday I placed an order using their own App. When arrived to pick up the order they had ran out of breasts. We were told to wait 20 minutes or that they could give us other pieces. We decided to wait, it took longer than 20 minutes but we waited, we werent offered anything for the inconvenience until we asked! They begrudgingly gave us 1 extra breast.
However the disappointed was even greater when we got home. We started eating and soon after we realized that the chicken breast were RAW!!! We immediately called the store and were told to contact the support thru the app. They did offer to remake it but at that point who would want to eat more chicken when you bit into undercooked chicken. We contacted support using the App to be told that they were going to send it back to the store. We only had hoped that we would not get sick….well surprise surprise our family members got food poisoning what an amazing way to spend our Thanksgiving! I contacted the manger again today and we were told that she couldn’t do anything besides making more chicken. I want my refund! I’m so disappointed.

Are you still not like buying from Popeyes because it was always so expensive but then I downloaded the app and the deals that they have and the rewards that amazing… Sometimes you could get 14 piece tenders, two sides and five biscuits for less than 30 bucks that definitely feeds my family a five on a Friday night.

Why is this restaurant so strict about their sauces?? They’ve always been this way for years. 3 piece tenders and -1- sauce packet? Come on, I need at least 2 sauces, 3 would be better. I asked for two sauce packets and got scolded with the sauce “rules”, and with her pointing to a sign saying I can pay 25c for more if I want.
Aside from that annoyance, the chicken tenders usually taste fresh and hot . Even the drive thru can build up a line, they’re pretty quick. The apple pies are so good. So, I’ll be back for my tenders and single sauce.

Ordered spicy crisp combo for $12.79 just now. I am the only one in the house at this moment. Cheese is not melted, (did they heat it?). Gave me ketchup only after I asked. So do ask whatever you want, or they won’t give to you.

Been coming here for as long as I can remember. The food is always hot and fresh. Came here during dinner time and saw their wings so I had to order. If you like their fried chicken texture, you’ll like their crunchy wings too. It was packed inside and at drive-thru. The staff are so busy and a couple of them are still in training. They still kept the food coming out very quickly and were very nice and friendly. The dine-in area is okay. We mostly just ordered the takeout only anyway.

Wow, what a big disappointment. Paying $55 for a classic meal and it looks like they throw in mostly legs six pieces to be exact. And wings with only one tiny little thigh half the size of what they used to be and one chicken breast. It looks like they’re using Much smaller chicken. Makes me wonder the quality?? Also, the cold slaw tasted like the cabbage was very old or had been left out. This was the absolute worst slop we’ve ever gotten from this place.!!! We will never return
