This was our first time eating here and I don’t know why we waited so long! First of all, it’s a beautiful restaurant. It’s also very cozy and romantic. We were seated near the bar but it was not distracting. All of the food was delicious and big portions! The drinks were great too. Luigi was our server and was very attentive to our every need. Order Luigi’s tiramisu, it was the best we’ve been tried! It’s the week before Halloween and a guy dressed like a zombie walked by our table at one point which was so fun! I can’t wait to go back!

For a Thanksgiving dinner they should use fresh vegetables and homemade cranberry sauce! They should be embarrassed to serve peas and carrots like this! This was in the to go container so that i could post this. The service was good and the bartender, Mel was great. Pumpkin pie a 5 star. But please, do better next year – fresh cooked carrots or green beans and make a fresh cranberry sauce.

Loved the old-world charm — exposed beams, rich historic character, and just a hint of a ghostly vibe that makes the place unforgettable. I had the steak au jus with fries, perfectly done and full of flavor. My friends ordered the chicken and the steak frites, and both were just as impressed. A delicious, satisfying meal in a uniquely cool atmosphere — definitely a spot worth visiting again

Very nice place, the menu offers a wide range of different food to choose from, desserts are presented on a wooden board to look at before deciding, very friendly staff and decent Jazz music in the background, which lifts the atmosphere to a higher level. Prices are a little bit on the more expensive side, but absolutely worth it. Parking is just in front. Highly recommendable.

Come here for a birthday celebration.

The food was great. The foof service was super. Don’t forget to take a picture in front of the fireplace with your friends and family. There is a very pretty stain glass artwork hanging on the ceiling. It will enhance your picture a great deal.

We usually call ahead to meet reservations.

This restaurant is located next to a river and the Hunterton Art Museum. If you stop by and browse the art exhibition. You will not be disappointed.

Everything was great. Flavorful food and wonderful service and atmosphere. I gave it 4 stars because of the prices. Cmon when we spent over 600$ and you still want us to pay 5.50 dollars for a basket of bread? It will be awhile before we return.

Great restaurant in the beautiful historic Town of Clinton, where you can enjoy a walk before or after dining. Parking, with no time limit, is available in front or across the street. Prices are reasonable priced whether you want to order a lunch type meal moderately priced or go all out with a 3 course meal with appetizers. Food is always delicious and service is always friendly and accommodating. I’ve been dining here for years and have no complaints, only great dining memories!

Cozy atmosphere, excellent service, Fernanda our waitress was lovely and properly attentive. Onion rings pretty close to perfect, good steak, and lovely shrimp appetizer. The menu is interesting, my second time there, my sense is you can’t go wrong. A charming warm meal experience is what the Clinton House offers.

Extremely disappointing experience at The Clinton House, especially given the high price point on Valentine’s Day.

We were seated at 8:30 PM after being required to provide a credit card to hold the reservation and being told we would only have 90 minutes at the table. For a restaurant charging $70+ per entrée, that policy sets an expectation of efficiency and professionalism. Unfortunately, the experience did not match the standard implied by those rules.

We were placed in what appeared to be an adjacent or overflow dining room that had little to no ambiance. It felt crowded and chaotic, with tables packed tightly together and an overworked wait staff clearly struggling to keep up. The room lacked the atmosphere you would expect at this price level and felt more like a rushed banquet setup than a fine dining experience.

Around 10:00 PM (approximately 90 minutes after being seated), we were informed that they had run out of lobster tails for one of our entrées, which was one of the main components of the steak and lobster entrée we both ordered. Being told a key item is unavailable that late into the evening, after already waiting so long, is unacceptable for a restaurant at this price level.

I requested scallops as a substitute, but they were extremely thin — more like small scallop discs — and not remotely comparable to lobster tails in either quality or value. Additionally, the lobster that was served was overcooked and shockingly small — closer in size to a colossal shrimp than what anyone would reasonably expect from a lobster tail at this price point.

When the food finally arrived, both the steak and scallops were bland and completely under-seasoned. For a $70+ entrée, you expect proper seasoning, thoughtful preparation, and attention to detail. Instead, the meal felt rushed and uninspired. It also was not was described on the menu. Aside from the sad excuse of a lobster tail, the ridiculous attempt at a substitution, utter lack of seasonings, we got 2 broccoli florets and some carrots— not the asparagus indicated in the menu description.

To their credit, they did comp my meal, which we appreciated. However, the overall experience suggests the restaurant may want to seriously rethink staffing levels, reservation booking practices, and menu planning for future peak nights. At this price point, guests deserve a far more organized and polished experience. Unfortunately, this was not worth the cost and it was immediately clear the establishment sacrificed quality and customer experience over quantity.

We came in during lunch time and we had a great experience. Our waitress was extremely nice and attentive.

It’s a must to order their fried mushrooms and baked clams. The fried mushrooms were crispy and the dipping sauce was full of flavor.

For entrees, we ordered the pan-seared salmon and beef wellington. The salmon was very crispy and the beef wellington was tendered and savory.

We ordered the tiramisu for desert but they have plenty of deserts options as well. And it’s a must to ordered desert!
