Cons: Hard to locate when looking for ‘Sofra.’ Better look for ‘As Evi’. Same place. Seating is boothstyle with ample room to sit. The tables are fastened to the wall and I had to sit on the edge of the bench to reach my plate. The table was not clean. While the hostess noticed, she did not wipe it down. Given, I could have asked for a wipe down or simply sit elsewhere.
Pros: Ample parking. Friendly staff. I was looking for Turkish food and Turkish coffee. The ingredients were fresh…all of them. Artfully decorated on the plates. Absolutely divine taste. The chicken kabobs were perfection. The Turkish coffee was excellent. Prices are reasonable.

Please be aware that menu items are offered on a daily rotation of beef, then chicken basis. Works for me.

Have I found my go to Turkish place? Not sure. Will I return for more food and coffee? Absolutely!

This is a small Turkish place tucked inside a strip of other businesses. My Chicken kabobs had really good flavor and they were cooked perfectly. However the portions were very small, not just on the chicken but on the naan bread as well. It was a very heavy rice plate with some solid vegetables. I really liked the tomatoes, but the onions were lacking flavor. The pizza appetizer was my favorite part of the meal and it was perfect. Great flavors, and wonderful spices. Yet at $16 it is very expensive and not very filling. Overall, the food tasted pretty good and I would recommend trying all the different halal foods. But the hefty price and long wait times for the food brings down the rating. The place could use a bit more designs and decorations around, but otherwise it was a good experience.

Don’t be dismayed by the simplicity of the front of this amazing restaurant. You’re going to be treated to excellent Mediterranean food and friendly family service. Everything we ordered was very fresh and SO-O delicious! I’ve also never had pita bread the way this was baked, not thin, but more like a bread and outrageously good. And with the hummus? Amazing. The menu offers many choices and we loved the kabobs, the rice was perfect as was the salad. I could eat here every day! 5 stars plus!

One of the best Turkish food we tried so far in New York area. Will definitely going back again.

A lot of things were not available because of the Ramadan so had to go for some other options but still it was such a great experience. It was a kind of hybrid restaurant where if you want any drinks you walk to the counter and get one and some time they bring it too if you got lucky

Jokes apart food was highly fresh and taste. Usually we feel heavy ness after eating too much but with them not at all.

Service was relatively quicker than other similar restaurants and much politer, I heard they had great tea but could taste it because of Ramadan.

Will definitely going back and recommendation is Adan chicken combination of beef kabob with rice lemon, onion, lettuce and some bread. So can’t beat that. Have fun

We were in Rochester and looking for halal options and we stumbled upon Evi Turkish cuisine right away as we entered we were greeted with the sweetest servers.
Appetizers: hummus and baba ganoush (5 stars)
Pide ground beef and pide doner (5 stars) it was absolutely delicious
Mains we got: two mixed grill plates and one chicken plate that came with rice and salad and lots of meat. We all devoured it because honestly the food was amazing.
Dessert we got baklava and this awesome caramel cake (usually I am not a big fan of caramel) but this cake was so moist and so dense we all ate it even the kids loved it.

We cannot wait to visit again when we are in Rochester NY

Thank you for an amazing service on Fri June 7th at around 8pm

We are very grateful

First off I was trying this location because I want to give all types of food a try. This location we average at best. The service was like a 2.5 but I don’t have that option. The young lady walked passed me 4 time ans never said a word to me. Finally a young man came from the back to assist me. I asked for recommendation and then I ordered. I was disappointed in the flavor or the meat. The tomato sauce was pretty good and it also had a bread like gyro to it which tasted pretty good. Over all I give this location a 3 out of 5. I might try it again just to see of the dish was the problem or if it’s the cook.

Overall, As Evi Turkish Cuisine is a very good restaurant. I would rate it 3.0 on Atmosphere, 4.5 on Food and 5+ on service. Be prepared – it’s a bit of a a dive, so don’t let the looks fool you, you should try it! The service/managment was over-the-top and I’d give it a 5+. Super friendly and made our first visit special. My sister really liked the Lahmacun, however I didn’t try as I don’t eat meat. We also started with the Babaganush which was delicious. And then we ordered two different Pides (which was way too much food). I had the Mantra (with mushrooms) and my sister had the Dönerli (stuffed with Gyro Meat). Of the food she didn’t care for the Dönerli. It has a flavor she didn’t care for. And for a little sweet at the end, we were treated to a little Baklava. All in all, we would go back the next time we are in Rochester.

Simply put – fantastic food. Freshly made and perfectly seasoned, every component is tasty on its own without being overbearing. Whether you like chicken, beef or lamb you will find something delicious here. Vegans have some amazing choices here as well including the fresh hummus and lentil soup.
