Hopdoddy Burger Bar at the new 9th & CO development marks our second restaurant in Denver (check out our Union Station location, too). Surrounded by parks, shopping, and a new AMC Theatre, our new location is ideal for both residents and those looking for a walk-able area for a day of fun. We absolutely love Denver, and we’d like to think Denver loves us back. Local pubs like The Infatuation and Colorado Bucketlist have named Hopdoddy as one of the best burger bars in town. Our obsession with quality sets us apart. Every day, we bake our buns in-house so that they’re as fresh as possible. We also hand cut our fries and use Certified Piedmontese beef, the difference is in the taste.

The moment you walk in, the smell of grease hits you and not in a good, “appetizing” way. It’s heavy and lingers in the air to the point where it’s actually hard to sit inside because that’s all you’re breathing. as you see from the photos and vedio, it was 12 noon, lunch time and no one inside! Thankfully they have outdoor seating area.
Cleanliness, Needs a deep scrub
The hygiene here was pretty disappointing. While the indoor tables looked clean at a glance, they were unpleasantly sticky to the touch. Additionally, the leather seating was in poor condition, with large visible tears and cuts in the material. . We decided to sit outside since the weather was nice, but the outdoor seating was covered in dust. We had to wipe down our own seats and table before sitting.
The Food, Just okay
As for the meal, it was underwhelming. The quality didn’t feel premium at all; honestly, the presentation felt more like kids’ meals than a gourmet burger bar.
Decent enough if you’re in a pinch, but between the heavy grease smell and the dusty/sticky furniture, the environment makes it hard to enjoy the food.
I ordered the Wagyu smash burger to-go and enjoyed it so much that I went back to dine in on the same day to try two other burgers. The Patty Melt was great, though I have two minor comments: 1) Toward my last few bites, it felt a bit too salty. 2) I would suggest slicing the caramelized onions smaller so they don’t pull out as you bite (I noticed this in every burger with caramilized onions). The third burger I tried was the Mushroom burger. It was unique and enjoyable, but the goat cheese is very rich, so it might be better as a shared item.
The Tres Leches milkshake was a great pairing with the burgers.
All the burgers were quite rich, so offering sliders on the menu could make the experience even better, allowing people to try smaller portions of different styles.
Great fresh cut fries as well…the large is huge….the 2 of us didn’t finish.
A bit expensive, but quality costs.
Service was fast, friendly, helpful and attentive. The space is large, fairly dark on a cloudy day and loud. It was comfortable though. They do have unsecured Wi-Fi for customers.
Parking on street was available. During peak times when it may be hard to find, there is a free garage around the corner.
