Chicken Teriyaki bowl was delicious! Best miso soup in Tampa, also the spicy edamame was the best I’ve ever had! Will definitely be coming back:) they also sell Japanese cheesecake and I can’t wait to try it! Service was exceptional, Melissa helped us at the counter and we can’t want to visit again!

Junmai Station is a new Japanese takeaway spot in downtown Tampa at the bottom of the new Hyatt Place/Hyatt House. It is by the same duo that runs Ebisu Sushi Shack, so I expected good things. I wasn’t disappointed! This eatery specializes in onigiri, which are scrumptious rice balls that are often in triangular shape and have various fillings. For my first visit, I got the shake (salted salmon $3.95) , shiso ume (shiso leaf & plum $3.50), tsukune (chicken meatball $4.25), and the rainbow (which is a whole plethora of ingredients $5.25). The shake and shiso ume were absolutely perfect! They were warm, delicious explosions of flavor in my mouth that were somehow so comforting. The shiso ume in particular, while the flavors were unfamiliar, was a real treat. Definitely try this one out if they have it!
A selection of donburi (rice bowls) are also available, so I will try one of those next time. They only have a few seats at the window, so it’s primarily a grab-and-go kind of place. I think this is a great addition to the downtown area!

Extremely disappointing service! I called at 2:35 PM to place an order for pickup, and the person who answered the phone was not only rude but seemed uninterested in helping. When I asked about fried rice, he laughed and sarcastically reminded me that this was a Chinese restaurant. He then abruptly hung up on me. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the business. It’s no wonder they’re rarely open—I won’t be returning.

This small Quick-service restaurant is all you need to look for Authentic Japanese food in Downtown Tampa

I ordered for the first time and LOVE IT!!!

Japanese Beef Curry – the taste of Curry is actually very juicy and mouthful pairing with Rice. I also have little plum pickle on the side as you could see in the picture.

Shumai – Chewy Chewy! And Yummy Yummy. You should try this out too.

Whenever you’re craving for Authentic Japanese Food. Check Junmai Station out’!!!

Not the greatest place to eat in Downtown. Unfortunately, the food tastes microwaved, the rice is definitely stale and the staff isn’t too friendly either. Very costly for the quality of the food and portion size. Would not recommend.

If any of you all are in downtown for lunch, this spot on the corner is a great little Japanese spot with some really good food. I highly recommend. And will definitely be coming back to try the other stuff on the menu!

Got a ton of food while I was visiting Tampa. I was hoping to get more onigiris but we were one of the last customers so we got the last spam one.

The rice bowls were yummy, we got gydon and chicken teriyaki. Both tasted good. The sizes aren’t big, just enough to fill you up. The lady was so sweet, she threw in two miso soups for us.

The spam musubi was okay, the spam was sliced pretty thing and it made me wish I had another piece.

But over all it was very nice and authentic.

There was nowhere to eat inside so we took our food back to the hotel.

I’ve visits almost every place within a 1-2 hour drive of Tampa looking for Japanese food especially Japanese Curry and this is the ONLY place that Nailed it 100%. It taste just like Japan. I’ve been to Japan 8x over the last 7 years and missed Japanese food so much while being in the USA. This place actually has legit Japanese food. Try it and you will know what Japan taste like

I came by today specifically for the Onigiri and they were, unfortunately, out. I had driven from Bradenton for one of these amazing rice balls, but was fine driving away empty-handed because I understood they sell out of these delicious hand-made treats. The owner had the chef whip me up a Tuna and Mayo Onigiri real quick, and I have to say it was one of the best quick foods I’ve ever had. I will 100% be back. Thank you so much for taking the time to make it for me!!
