What a great place. The bar/high top area has a very cool vibe. The food was absolutely delish. The pork belly bao buns were unbelievable and the chicken Milanese the best I’ve had. The owner made us feel very welcomed. We will be back very soon.

My husband and I absolutely love this place and are so lucky to have this wonderful restaurant in our town. We went in for brunch last minute and the service was top notch. The food and drinks were delicious and we loved the decor and vibe. We will definitely be back soon!

Tokyo cheese steak was delicious. Salmon tacos were perfect. Everything was really delicious. Place has a good vibe and energy. A little pricey. But worth it. Upscale gastro pub is what this area needed and I applaud the effort. We’ll definitely be back. Grinch cocktail was excellent!

My friend and I love visiting new places in the area, we decided this place was next. We had the power salad, boneless wings, truffle fries, and spicy tuna rice. All the food was great, the fries and wings in particular, the specialty cocktails were also good. Best of all though, was Abby, fantastic service and she made us great drinks. She made us feel so welcomed, thank you Abby!

This was my first time dining here, and it was an absolutely lovely experience. We chose to sit at one of the outdoor tables, which was a perfect choice for a peaceful and relaxing meal.
What I Liked (Pros):
Atmosphere: The outdoor seating area had a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere that made the dinner feel special.
Service: From the moment we arrived, the service was excellent. The staff was attentive, friendly, and efficient.
Menu: I was impressed with the variety on the menu; there were plenty of interesting options to choose from.
Food Quality: Most importantly, the food was very good. Every dish we had was well-prepared and delicious.

As a resident of the town, I was disappointed to see Amster’s Tavern disappear, but also excited to see what would come next. After eating here I was left very disappointed. This place is catering more towards the elite and oblivious than the working class of Waldwick.
I enjoyed my time at the bar where I tried a few of the cocktails. The bartender was fantastic and the cocktail selection was diverse and fun. The drinks came out wonderfully and was aboslutely the highlight of the night.
The food on the other hand was a complete miss. We ordered wings and a pretzel sticks as an appetizer. While the wings were decent, the pretzel sticks were smothered in salt making them almost impossible to eat. At $15 for 3 overly salted pretzel sticks, this was an outrage.
For dinner, I was really in the mood for a nice burger. Unfortunately, they only had a double smashburger on the menu. Reluctantly, I ordered it. For $22 I had enormous expectations. There is no world where a burger should cost more than $20 and if it does, it should have all the bells and whistles and be made with the finest ingredients. This one was not it. Covered in American Cheese (the cheapest of all cheeses!), the burger was meh. It’s what you would expect at any fast food joint. The fries that came with it were your garden variety frozen fries and the tiny tub of coleslaw reminded me of eating at a diner. The taste of the coleslaw was lackluster. It was a disappointing meal for sure.
If you’re looking to have a nice drink or two and don’t mind spending more than $10 per drink, this is your place. However, I highly do not recommend eating here as the food is not even close to being worth the price. Too bad.

Called Thursday; made reservation for 4 for a table in the dining room. Arrived on time and told no reservation existed. Hostess got us a table in the dining room.
We then waited ~20 minutes before the waitress came to our table. At this point we did not even have menus. She got us menus and took our drink order. Another 20 minutes (~40 from sitting down) and we finally had our first round of drinks. One of the beers delivered to the table was not full and was sent back to the bar, so my friend had to wait even longer for his first drink.
We ordered appetizers (Wings and Boneless Crispy Chicken). Wings were so-so; Crispy Chicken was tasty.
For my meal I ordered the Charlie Smash Burger. This burger was terrible. While it was cooked to order (medium), the cheese was not even melted and the taste was just not there. Very disappointing.
Lastly, the waitress did not ask us if we wanted anything else (another round of drinks or dessert); she just put the bill on the table.
I want to try to be fair here… While the service was very slow, it may be a staffing issue (which is an owner/management issue) and/or it could be due to the holiday season, so the wait staff may just have too many tables, etc. But that (signature “Charlie’s) burger was so disappointing.
I will not be going back.

They didn’t let us know when we made the reservation nor when we arrived that they were closing at 8 pm. We had a 645 reservation and an hour later we were told at 745 the bar was closing. The music started blaring at 815 pm. The restaurant is a bit pricey to be pushing people out the door 20 minutes after the entrees are served. There was a sign on the entry door advising about the holiday party. The sign was not there when I arrived.

The best wings in the state of NJ. Honestly the best bar food I’ve ever had. Abbey was our waitress – she was top 3 in Nj too. Top 3 – unreal. The wings. Unreal. I could suck em down everyday good and proper I’ll tell ya, one time.
