Sam’s Seafood and Steak was purchased in 2022 by Melissa, Eric, and Nicole as a tribute to their late mother, Linda. The 3 owners of Sam’s Seafood and Steak have a long history of service and commitment to the Cypress area. Not only were they residents of Lakewood Forest and graduates of Cy-Creek High School, but they have continued to work and live in the area for more than 35 years. Melissa, Eric, and Nicole are excited to provide their long-time neighbors with quality seafood, scrumptious country-style grub, and mouth watering steaks. They take pride in preparing the seafood, salad, and steaks in the kitchen fresh daily.

Decided to try this place because they had corn nuggets and those are hard to find. Lol
We had fried shrimp and grilled shrimp, gumbo and blackened tilapia. Everything was “okay”, nothing spectacular but nothing was bad. Most items lacked flavor, but the veggies and corn nuggets were great. The atmosphere is probably why we won’t dine in again. It had the feeling of a retirement home cafeteria. Very plain, quiet and for lack of better word…boring.
We had a 9 y.o. and a 15 y.o. with us and there were 2, maybe 3 other customers in there at the time (Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.) and you could hear a pin drop in the place. I think they heard say that because they turned on some soft music which was nice. The service was great and attentive and the food came out quickly. They may just cater to an older crowd which could explain the lack of flavor but for the prices, we could have gone somewhere else with a more lively atmosphere and better seasoned food. They aren’t expensive but they are cheap.

Honestly, it was the best redfish I’ve ever had. The seasoning was perfectly balanced, everything was cooked to perfection, and the customer service was excellent. Highly recommend — 100%!

Very friendly and attentive staff and the food was delicious. We ordered the catfish and shrimp dinner plate and it seriously was some of the best catfish we have had. The gulf size shrimp was also delicious. We order hushpuppie as an appetizer and they came hot and were good.

I had the pleasure of dining at Sam’s this past weekend and it was excellent. The food was absolutely amazing. I ordered steak and it was delicious and one of the best steaks I’ve had in quite some time. The fresh vegetables were exceptionally well prepared and very fresh and juicy. My waitress was just terrific. Very nice and professional. She helped to make my dining experience fantastic. She was very knowledgeable about the food and the area. I was visiting from out of town and she made me feel welcome and made me feel like mg business was truly appreciated. Great restaurant and I’ll definitely be back again.

I met a friend here for lunch, I had never been but she’s a regular. I had read some reviews that raved about the fried shrimp so I had to get that. All the reviews are correct, the fried shrimp is noteworthy, simply excellent!
I also got a piece of fried catfish which was great. I love crawfish etouffee and had to order it. The very kind gentleman told me it wasn’t your typical etouffee, but more like a bisque. It was so much better than I expected, it was my favorite item!
Prices are great also!

Excellent food, excellent service!!!! Steaks were cooked to perfection, stuffed salmon was outstanding!! Fried pickles and calamari were delish!!! Will be back!!

The fried shrimp were large and delicious. The salad was fresh. The veggies were cooked just right & the dirty rice was moist and seasoned well. The best part was the speedy and excellent service we received. My son ordered gumbo and he liked it, but would’ve wanted more shrimp in it. Will be going back!

This place has the best fried seafood in the area, hands down. The service is great and the prices are way better than that big chain, Pappa, and you can contribute to local owners. Fried catfish, oysters, shrimp and stuffed crab are the best. Get the hush puppies also, tasty.
Update, 5-1-22.
They no longer have the stuffed Crab but the fried fish, shrimp and oysters are still fantastic. You should try this place out, you will not be disappointed.

My catfish and seafood gumbo was great. The fried calamari was excellent. My wife’s chicken fried chicken lacked flavor. Her French fries were good, but the gravy was a bit bland. If they would season their dredge, it would be exceptional!. Service from Blaze was great.
