Best local joint in the North Hills. My wife and I have been coming here since 2018 and it’s our favorite by far. Food is all made from scratch at a reasonable price. Staff is lights out. Drinks are high quality. Beer selections. 10/10 from a guy that has ate and drank everywhere around here and Pittsburgh. Go here. Tip a lot.

Awesome pub with good food, cozy decor, and friendly people. I’m currently on a month long dry, so I only had water, but the beer selection looked perfect for when I’m drinking again.

The wings were appetizer grade and a tad bit too expensive for my tastes. $9 for six smallish wings. I’m not sure, and I forgot to ask, but they tasted like had a classic flour coating.

But, the burger was out of this world! Oh my gosh. The bun was warm and fluffy, the ingredients all complimented each other, every bite exploded with flavor. And I thought the apple slaw was some of the best slaw I’ve ever had.

I look forward to this meal every time I go to Poor Richard’s. It’s a cold beer, and the beef on wek sandwich. Always perfect and the horseradish stings your sinus so perfectly. I know they have a ton of other great food (check out the instagram) but I always come back to this specific meal. The bartenders are always nice and engaging and the bar is a great hidden getaway. Love it.

Food never disappoints here. I’ve been here many times and it’s always a positive experience. Staff is attentive and friendly. Their French Onion Soup is THE best I’ve ever had!

We were in Pittsburgh for the weekend and found this hidden gem! Food was fantastic. A big section of draft beer and friendly service. Great atmosphere and very reasonable prices. Wish this place was closer to home!! It was about 25 per person for two beers and a large sandwich. The coleslaw as amazing!

Beef on weck and wings were excellent. My husband and I were in Pittsburgh from Minnesota for our nephews wedding. I grew up in WNY and I really miss Beef on Weck. We tried hard to find a place in Pittsburgh that might serve it and came across Poor Richards. What a treat! We ate there twice it was so good. The beef was tender, sliced thin and piled high. Kemiweck roll was perfect. And horseradish is a must. The wings were amazing too, and good local craft beers. In addition to the food… the workers; from the servers to the waitstaff to the owners and chefs were so friendly. If you are in the area it’s definitely a must.

It ticks me off that this place adds a 3% charge for credit card transactions. More than 90% of your patrons pay by credit card, so bake the cost into your price and don’t nickle-dime your customers. Do business the way your customers prefer and don’t make yourself look cheap. Treat us like valued customers, not transactions. Your policy will only hurt the tips of your employees. There are plenty of places in the North Hills to get an overpriced burger. I’ll go where they appreciate my business. I’m not giving you my business until this policy changes.

Ended up here by happy accident. Our waitress was fantastic & gave me beer samples to help me figure out what I’d like best. I was a little disappointed at first that they didn’t have impossible or beyond burger substitutes, but the mushroom burger was so outstanding that it completely made up for the limited vegetarian options. My husband said his pub burger with brisket was the best he’s ever had, and he’s infuriatingly hard to impress. We would definitely eat here again.

Poor Richard’s Public House is hands down my favorite spot in the area! The food here is incredible, the brisket sandwich is melt-in-your-mouth good, the wings never disappoint, and the Black & Gold chicken sandwich is a standout. I’m also hooked on the Morita brisket wrap, and if you happen to stop by on the first Thursday of the month, don’t miss the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. It’s not only actually hot but absolutely delicious.

What really sets this place apart, though, is the staff. They’re always friendly, welcoming, and if you become a regular, they’ll even remember what you like, which makes the experience feel extra special every time.

Between the great food and the amazing people, Poor Richard’s is a spot I’ll keep coming back to again and again.

Beef on Weck was very tender, had good flavor, but I could use a small fraction of the salt on the bun. I wiped most of it off. The fries were very good, too. We were seated immediately and the waitress was great, too. Parking is behind the building.
