TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Made a trip to try Dave’s Hot Chicken today. Interesting for a fast food joint and the chicken was moist and juicy and not overly hot for “medium” heat. Sauces were great but the hot fried mozzarella sandwich and coleslaw were just ok. $19 out the door seemed quite expensive for the food quality and service level. But better than most chicken chains. I would only get chicken next time…

First time trying Dave’s Hot Chicken from some friends’ recomendations and the Howell location was the closest to us personally.
Tried the #2 combo and was very impressed by the size of the chicken sandwiches despite being called sliders! The fries were also pretty good after some reheating. Just settled with the medium spice level which was enough to give it a kick but not be overpowering. The chicken was moist and delicious.
The Dave’s sauce reminds me of a mix of thousand island, remoulade, and Chick-fil-A, but definitely more flavorful. The provided sauce packets are gargantuan!
Not the cheapest meal but you get a lot for the money so I’m happy :). Definitely will have to come back in and have it again sometime.

Not sure what happened this time guys, but look at this chicken and tell me it was made “Hot.”
I noticed because I was able to eat one of the sliders without so much as a sweat. I come to Dave’s for the tender juicy chicken like anyone, but I really want it to hurt. To deprive me of this is criminal.

IMO Dave’s Hot Chicken is the most underrated fast food restaurant. The food is consistently delicious and fresh. The fries are the best I’ve ever had at a fast food restaurant. Today I went through the drive thru and they had some challenges with their equipment. I ended up with a free meal and coupons for more free food. Excellent customer service!

I don’t know why this is my first time trying this place, just a mile down from my house .this is place is clean very spacious eating dinning area. Very colorful place. Music is loud, but it is better than boring places with no music.
Chicken Sandwich was hot freash delicious well seasoned but a little salty my opinion Fries was hot and crispy .
We ordered 2 # 2 combo.i had to sign a waiver for the reaper spicy levels heat. It is hot so be ready for the heat spice to kick in.. I ordered 2 sandwiches, just finished 1 chicken sandwich only .food was so good we ordered 2 more combo chicken sandwiches. .my opinion is this place tastes just as good as cane’s chicken or not better you’ll be the judge. Good food but salty

I ordered the Dave’s #1 combo with tenders and fries, and it completely blew me away! The chicken tenders were huge, juicy, and perfectly crispy — easily some of the best I’ve ever had. The seasoning was spot-on, with just the right amount of heat and that signature Dave’s flavor. The fries were golden, crunchy, and seasoned to perfection — the perfect side to soak up every last bit of that amazing sauce.
A special shoutout to Ben, who made the experience even better! He was super friendly, helpful with recommendations, and made sure everything came out fresh and perfect. It’s rare to find service that genuine and upbeat — Ben really made our visit memorable.

my experience was great! Dave’s Hot Chicken never misses! The chicken is always crispy and packed with flavor, and the sauce is elite. Every spice level hits different but the flavor always stays on point. Big shoutout to my friend Natalie she’s the best! 10/10, definitely worth the hype and I’ll keep coming back for more!

I was in the area and stopped off at this Dave’s hot chicken. This was my first time here. I got the Dave’s #1 combo and it was spectacular! My food was hot and fresh and it was very little wait time. A special thanks to Ben, a worker there, who helped made my first time experience there a great one. Ben was very respectful and joyful and he recommended the Dave’s #1 for me. I will be back soon to get another Dave’s #1 combo at this location. 10/10 recommend

I stopped by Dave’s Hot Chicken recently, and Nolan made the whole experience way better than expected. From the moment I walked in, he greeted me with genuine energy and made sure everything was perfect with my order. He knew the menu inside and out, gave great recommendations, and went out of his way to make sure my food came out fresh and just the way I wanted it.
You can tell he really cares about customers and takes pride in what he does — which honestly makes a big difference. The food was incredible (as always), but Nolan’s friendly attitude and attention to detail made this visit stand out.
If you’re going to Dave’s, I definitely recommend stopping in when Nolan’s working — you’ll be taken care of!
