Sub-par Mexican
The chips look (and taste) like a Sysco product. The enchiladas taste as if they were made with Cheez Whiz or Velveeta. The camarones a la diabala were not at all spicy.
Language barriers led to some other issues: A frozen margarita order was not frozen, and utensils had to be requested multiple times before they were finally delivered, as our food sat in front of us, cooling down. That said, I think our server was well intentioned.
The restaurant is noisy, making conversation difficult.

Fantastic Mexican food. The Aroz Con Pollo was delicious, with a perfect amount of cheese and plenty of rice! The Speedy Gonzalez was good as well. Food came out quickly and the service was good.

Gran Ranchero is the absolute best Mexican food on this side of the border. On top of their amazing food, they are staffed with the most friendly guys and girls you could ask for. It’s not uncommon to see them going out of their way to help older people in need or to help a child get something they dropped under the table. One of my absolute favorite places to eat on any given day.

Service was great! However, the place is dirty. Old salsa stains on the walls, flys and other bugs were flying around getting which got landed in our food got stuck and died. Gran Azteca on south side is better with bigger parking lot and the same menu.
