We are extremely disappointed in the customer service and quality of food. We ordered from Mike’s because we were having people over for a birthday and a few
people needed gluten free pizza. They are one of the few places that have cauliflower crust. Unfortunately, we will never be back! I placed an order online at 2pm for 530pm pickup. My husband arrived at 5:10pm and let them know he was there for a 5:30pm pickup. At 5:45pm half the order was complete (the gluten free pies) they then just start making the regular pies. My husband’s complaints were dismissed when he complained about half our order getting cold while the other half just got started at 5:45pm. They blamed it on a system issue and then said they were busy even though my husband was there for quite awhile and no one was coming in. He asked to speak to the owner or manager and a worker there called someone who told him that no one was available and the manager was away on vacation. They told him we would not be receiving a refund since we were going to be taking the pizzas. We had to take them, we had a house full of people waiting to eat! We weren’t even looking for a refund but wanted them to do something to make this right since half our order was already cold and there was a 30 min delay. They offered us 2- 16 ounce sodas and an order of garlic knots. It is now 6pm and a worker grabs the gluten free pies and then two random regular pies that were sitting on the oven the whole time my husband was there and says our order is now done. So they either had our order done the entire time and didn’t know or they gave us someone else’s pies that were sitting around. This was now 30 min after our pickup time and 50 min after he arrived. The gluten free and regular pies were ice cold that we served to our guests. To top it off, one of the pies had a huge hole in one of the slices. I can’t believe they sent us home with this mess! We didn’t pay to have cold pizza with holes in it. Worst experience ever.
Anyway pizza order was placed, 50 minutes in I saw the driver on their website still not even near the location.
I had called to speak to them to let them know at this rate likely the pizza would arrive cold, but running mouth Mike wouldn’t let me get a word in, and decided he should take it upon himself to cancel my order without a confirmation from me, before proceeding to hang up.
All I wanted to do is let them know they should probably remake or reheat the food as it will be a full hour and a half, until it arrives, I didn’t want to cancel the order Mike, I didn’t want a refund either.
I wanted you to do the right thing when the opportunity was presented to you, aka me calling in to the store and trying to express my concerns about likelihood of the pizza arriving cold.
Which, it 100% did.
That’s not the weathers fault, or the long wait time – which I had understood you were busy, no problem.
You were given the customers concern and chose to do nothing.
I don’t want to use the word incompetence, because that would suggest the inability to do it successfully, You could have. You chose not to.
I understand you had a line of customers, and I was a customer on the phone too, I deserve the same respect as if I was there in person.
You made a choice to not allow me to be heard, to put your frustrations on me, when you were at the extent of your patience running the business. And ultimately chose to send me cold pizza.
And when I called to let you know they were cold, you treated me as if I was doing something wrong. In your mind I was warned it was late, and because I didn’t want to cancel the order, it was okay if it arrived cold. So you thought I wouldn’t even be entitled to a refund at that point. Again, I didn’t. I wanted to hold you accountable, and even then you were dismissive of me just apologizing emptily.
Perhaps if you had specifically apologized for not letting me speak my concerns because you were too busy, threatening to cancel my order, hanging up on me, and being rude and condescending throughout, it would have felt there was a resolution at the end, but the bad taste still lingers Mike, and it’s not just from the cold pizza.
I forgive you Mike, as Christ calls us to do.
And I hope my words reach through to you to bring forth attentiveness, understanding, and empathy.
We visited the restaurant in person and dined in. The restaurant was clean and there were about 5 people waiting for pickup and folks walking in and out picking up Uber eats. Mikes pizza offered a fantastic vegan pizza. My wife customized it to her liking. Good size. Crust was crispy and sauce was good. Traditional sauce, not too sweet. My son and I split plain pie which was also good. We saw online that they offer online specials which we will be taking advantage of in the future. Consider us regulars.
Lacked quality…the chicken Murphy had so many jalepeno peppers it may have well been a taco and was far too spicy to eat, “sweet” anything should not be in the description, and the cheesesteak had maybe one thin slice of meat and cheese. Absolute disgrace.
