First time visiting this joint. We have been wanting to try this place out for awhile. To start with the waiter was very nice and the atmosphere is cozy. The star of the show was the chips and salsa.
However they need to do a good deep cleaning and spice it up just a smudge. Presentation of food was nice but flavor is lacking.
The chile relleno was not like any we have ever had. It had a thick soft egg crust which made it very odd. The sauce had great flavor and the cheese within it was very good as well. But in the end this tasted like an omelette.
The beef birria had good flavor but was very dry which made it a mouth full when eating.
The kids chicken quesadillas had no taste to the meat and the rice seemed to have no flavor either.
When we arrived around 2pm, there was only one other couple there. They ordered a few minutes before us and were out the door before we got our food.

Mexican menu. Beer. Family friendly, kid friendly, couples date option. Seating is not ideal for large groups. They bring free chips and salsa to the table. Service was friendly and they bring the food out quickly. The food was good but they’re not too keen on making substitutions/ changes. Lady next to me asked for a red sauce instead of green and they didn’t allow it. They stick to their recipes for what’s on the menu. She then ordered a kids quesadilla and didn’t even finish it. She clearly didn’t enjoy her meal which was disappointing but that wasn’t my experience. I ordered the shrimp tostadas (2) and they were good. Tostada has refried beans, salsa, avocado guac, shrimp and a layer of seared cheese topped with cilantro and onions. It looks different from what I was expecting but It was very tasty. I noticed that the tostada can be a little messy when eating. The chicken enfrijoladas were also tasty. The waiter was friendly and very attentive. The atmosphere was casual and pleasant during lunchtime.

Super friendly service that was helpful and knowledgeable and very attentive. Went right when they opened on Saturday. So was the first one there. Was seated immediately. The complementary chips and salsa were good. This salsa wasn’t hot but very flavorful. I ordered the pork shank and a side of rice.
The pork shank was just okay. The rice wasn’t very good …on the dry side. The beans were delicious and guacamole was fresh and tasty. I will return to try other items, but the pork shank was a little flat. The service was great, and i’m really eager to try other options on the menu.

The restaurant has a tag line ‘Mex without Tex’ and the menu is exactly that! If you are looking delicious mexican food, I highly recommend this restaurant. The staff is super friendly and the food is just outstanding. They also have veg options which are equally good as the non veg. I ordered the pork shank and it was juicy and fell of the bone. Definately a place to visit every chance you get!

Best Mexican food on the island!! Don’t let this humble little spot fool you, the food that comes out of this kitchen is incredible. I had the Adobo de puerco, the chicken Enfrijoladas, and the guacamole plate. It was all amazing.

I stopped at Guajillos last Saturday. I had seen it on Scoops Thursday report. I ordered the red pozole which came out very hot as I prefer it. Some local places serve it warm. There was a young man that attended my table and tried to make my visit pleasant. Only complaint about the food is most times I have eaten pozole it comes with shredded cabbage. I advised him if he had other hot sauce he took it back and made it very picosoro. So I ate the delicious pozole with chips and picosoro salsa. I didn’t have a need to visit the restroom so not sure how they are. The restaurant is nice and tidy and plenty of parking.

Well searched for texmex and Google recommended this. So was surprised to see mex no tex when we walked in but gave it a chance. The salsa was too hot and had a strong vinegar taste. My husband liked it I couldn’t eat it. Appetizers were listed as mild and we’re good. Ordered the Chile relleno. Supposed to be mild but was too spicy and again vinegar taste. Expected refried beans and got a bowl of red beans. They were ok. But really a lot of it tasted like some one used a lot of bobs red sauce. I’ll stick with tex mex. Service was good.

If you want authentic Mexican food, this is the place. It was delicious and very busy so it’s popular with the islanders. Will definitely go back. Got the special and it was perfect!

Went because it was highly recommended. Yah, the food was good, but not special. Had the pork shank. It was tender, but not overly flavorful. The lack of waitstaff was frustrating. Parking was tight.

You can not beat authentic MEXICAN homestyle cooking because that’s absolutely what you have here. My wife and I ordered the green chicken enchiladas, which were melt in your mouth fantastic. The order menu is limited, but I’m sure it’s all good. Same with the drink order, which is beer or soda pop. The service was okay, very quick to order, and also very quick to bring out our meals. It was a bit slow towards the end (busy place) to get our bill, which was payable at the guest counter. So basically, you pay your bill, and as you stand there, you will need to figure out how much to tip. No big deal, it’s just the way they do it. There is no paper bill. It’s certainly worth stopping if you enjoy authentic MEXICAN food.
