We were seated promptly despite a busy restaurant and not having booked in advance. Very pleasant staff, obviously freshly cooked fish and chips, which were very tasty. Mushy peas and tartare sauce appeared to be freshly made and delicious. Will absolutely eat here again.

We came to a local caravan site for a short break and while here we had both takeaway and sit down meal, and on another occasion we bought some of their ice cream. We planned to go and sit down when we first arrived but in the end decided to get a takeaway. My wife had scampi and chips and I had medium haddock and chips, with gravy and mushy peas. All excellent, and I got some of their gelato which they put in a takeaway container with a lid for me which was also excellent. On our last night, after enjoying the takeaway, we decided to go and sit down to eat. The restaurant was very nice, clean and had a lovely family-run and family-friendly feel. The staff on both occasions we visited were very lovely, caring and attentive without being “in your face” so to speak. The food was very good and very well cooked. We had three courses with drinks which came to £75. Highly recommend for both takeaway and eat in. I didn’t get a photo of my dessert as it looked so good I forgot and ate it

Delicious Haddock and chips. The regular was just the right size. Could have done with a slightly larger plate to be able to cut the food more easily, without risk of it falling off. Lovely surroundings inside and very good staff.

Fish and chip restaurant in West Ayrton not far from the caravan club site. Food was very good including the insane giant cod or haddock (see picture), clean and very apparent covid rules on separation and cleaning between guests. Booking is advised
The desert fridge needs a chair by it and a large spoon !
Friendly and attentive service in a clean and well spaced environment
As with these places you can eat cheaper out elsewhere but regardless we would recommend a visit here especially for the caravan fraternity, not everyone has to take on the giant cod piece !
It’s a 10 min walk and there is also parking around the back of the place.
Overall its a nice restaurant clean and excellent food. Worth a visit but watch out for that giant cod or haddock you better be hungry for that and if you happen to see the Lord of Darkness and the heir to the throne in the Prince of Darkness please kick them out of the desert fridge and send them back

Recommended by a good friend, we attended Walkers during a weekend away in the area. I was told that I wouldn’t be disappointed with their menu….and we weren’t, absolutely delicious fresh fish and chips cooked in beef dripping….Wow. I’ve certainly missed Yorkshire Fish and Chips! The kids also really enjoyed the home made desserts. Highly recommended

Excellent experience all round, Food lovely and service excellent in a pleasant environment. we had the small haddock and chips (more than enough for lunch) and the crayfish salad followed by the treacle/syrup sponge with icecream and the lemon meringue with ice cream bot a real treat and if I’m honest a bit of an indulgence.
The chips were fine but the fish was the best “chippy fish” I have had, though I suspect there will be folk with differing opinions as to their favourite, but in any case it is/was very very good!

I thought that the best fish and chips I’ve ever had was in Southwold. Today that changed to this place. I’m sad that it’s too far to travel regularly.
