What a pleasant surprise! We (wife, sister & brother in law) are happy hour regulars and Rocking Horse has become the place to compete with for our #1 rating.
Sometimes things just come together and it’s awesome. We arrived 10 minutes before happy hour and when we entered we were advised we needed to sit at the bar for happy hour prices even though our first instinct was a table near the bar.
A gentleman that apparently overheard the conversation told our greeter that the table was ok and not to worry about the happy hour time and just take care of us (later learned it was the owner). No better way to start the happy hour experience.
Our bartender / hostess (Rayann) added to the overall happy hour experience with her enthusiasm and attention that adds to feeling the right choice was made to stop here.
The other staff members (Carlos / Logan) added to the “VIP” type feeling (that I felt) that usually doesn’t happen unless you are a frequent presence in an establishment. In my case I definitely felt that “VIP” type treatment and my appreciation for the attention.
Everything just fell in place. The drinks were top notch (a combination of specials & regular orders). The food delicious.
Going to get here for the line dancing and / or the live entertainment next time I am in the area. Overall a great happy hour experience.

Good food. Good service, got there at 6 and they were charging a10 dollar cover for a band that went on at 7… band did not go on until 8. I don’t mind supporting local live music , but I went there to eat, paid the cover because I thought I’d hear the band for most of my time there. Ended up paying 20 bucks for 2 and hearing 30 minutes of live music. If you say a band is going to start at 7 then start them at 7.. 8 pm is not 7.. not interested in paying to watch line dancing lessons for an hour

We didn’t realize reservations were required to see the band, so the person who greeted us took our phone number if a vacancy came up. Less than 10 minutes later we got a call and was led to a table by him. McKenzie was a great waitress. Very nice to work with and checked with us at the right times. The venue is designed well, the band can be seen from just about anywhere. There’s a stage and seating for outdoor music. Plenty of parking is available. Nice to have a local venue to see great bands, some of which have toured throughout the nation. My sons have brought their families to the Rockinghorse for dinner, it’s enjoyed by kids too.

Drinks are great but food is inconsistent. I’ve gotten their chili almost every time I go (since they opened) and I won’t order it because it’s gotten worse every time (watery and no cornbread croutons like the menu says) Burnt ends were awful. Not sure i’ll bother with food other than fries after a few bad experiences. Bartenders are great though.
*edit: Yes, it is the right restaurant. You used to have burnt ends, you can see it on an old menu pic. makes sense why they aren’t on the menu anymore I guess.

I have dined at rocking horse a few times and absolutely loved it each time. The service is always on point, the music is great, and the food has been delicious each time. Today I got a burger, and it was so juicy and flavorful. The manager, Carlos stopped to check in on my table. He was so kind and helpful. He really cared to make sure everything was going perfectly for us. We will be back soon!

Had lunch there right when they opened. It was pretty quiet (only two or three tables seated and couple folks at the bar) overall, with staff still getting stocked up for the day. The deviled eggs were excellent with the bacon. The cajun dry rub wings were well seasoned and very tender with just the right level of crisp. Definitely some of the best wings we’ve had in a while and compare well to Hops 44 wings. The pulled pork & pickle mac n’ cheese was solid and everyone else’s portions were generous. It’s a pretty big and open space, but surprisingly solid acoustics to avoid echoing even with few people inside. The one star off for atmosphere is mostly with how empty it felt inside and the lighting felt like it was lacking for that time of day. I’m sure when it is a line dancing or concert night it is a lot more vibrant.

Great food. The menu has something for everyone.
Creative appetizers, delicious mac and cheese and my boyfriend and I even tried the steak dinner special one night and it was delicious.
I love the country Western Barn type atmosphere. Great for family dinners, large party dinners, date night or just meeting friends out for drinks, and check out live bands Fri and Sat night! Huge space!
They were playing great country music the night we were there and even had the music videos going on the TVs.
Servers are always greeting you with a smile. I would highly recommend checking out this place, or make it your regular spot.

Service can be slow during busy times. We had a party of 11. Request for bar orders were slow to arrive. Bar is questionable depending on what bar tender makes your drink. My fist old fashion was worst I experienced. The second was made to expectations. Food very good. Highly recommend the Cajun Pasta. It was a birthday party. Was supposed to get a desert on the house. But when I examined the bill after leaving, I found that I was charged $8. No one informed us that we would be charged. Thanks for the complementary birthday desert and candle. Check you bill before you pay! Remind the staff that you are waiting for your drink.
