The environment feels calm, clean, and cozy.
Service is beyond incredible. Polite, friendly, considerate – went as far as to pour my sake from time to time. He also gave me a reasonable suggestion for food, since there are plenty of choices.
I tried the pork belly buns and beef yakitori for my appetizer, and I finished with the Umami Ramen for lunch. Each dish was unique in flavor, but immediately impressed me. I’ve enjoyed good food before, but these were beyond just good tasting.
I chose here just to try a new restaurant, but I’m coming back as this easily surpassed other local spots of similar cuisine – and I’ve barely scratched the surface.
This isnt just your average joe spot. If you’re wanting hibachi, Ramen, sushi, or just overall classic Japanese cuisine – this definitely the place. What a great addition to Bethlehem!!
Our party of four enjoyed a tofu bento box, and three hibachi plates (steak and chicken and steak and shrimp). Meat all cooked to order, with rice, vegetables and soup with salad. The bento box was plentiful with California roll, rice, salad/soup, soft teriyaki tofu (delicious and savory), along with other items…
Service was good. The bento box was the last item out – wish it would have come with the rest of the order since we all like to enjoy our meal together. Overall, the food was hot and portion size was hearty. Seasoning was minimal however they do have low sodium soy options and plenty of sauces available. Prices are reasonable for todays standards.
The lunch was enjoyed by all of us. This is a nice option recently added to the shopping center and general area. Will definitely return.
I had a great experience at this new sushi spot in the neighborhood. The food was fresh and flavorful, and the sushi presentation was absolutely beautiful—almost too pretty to eat (but of course, we did!). Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. It’s clear they care about quality and customer experience. Definitely looking forward to coming back soon!
We had edamame and a shrimp tempura sushi roll (I wish I could remember what it was called).
For the main we had a chicken/shrimp hibachi with noodles; a chicken/steak hibachi with rice, and a wonton miso ramen.
All three of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The food was prepared as we expected, had so much flavor, was fresh, and overall very delicious.
If I’m ever in the area again, I’ll be back. I highly recommend this place!
The staff was super friendly and our waitress was very attentive. The menu is HUGE with so many choices! We started with the basic ginger salad and miso soup which they nailed. I also got a hot sake which was fantastic, they also have a large drink menu! It was followed by the tuna tataki and tuna lovers roll which were absolutely delicious. For our main course, we got the hibachi combo with chicken, shrimp and steak which was cooked perfectly. The ginger sauce was tasty and their yum yum sauce was great, had to get extra!
This area really needed a restaurant like Umami Tavern! There’s still so much we want to try like poke bowls, bento boxes, and ramen! Can’t wait to come back
