Drinks have a clear point of view and feel intentional rather than filler. The room is cozy, which adds charm but also means it fills quickly, so reservations help. The bar has TVs for a game, and the staff keeps the place moving in a relaxed, low-pressure way that makes it feel like a real neighborhood hangout. Prices aren’t light, but the quality makes it reasonable.
Overall it should be a 4.5, but it gets a shooter’s roll to a 5 because the food hits, the service is warm and the whole place just works. A legit gem in Frisco and an easy pick for a casual date night.
Unfortunately several mistakes were made. We couldn’t eat our appetizer for about 20 minutes because they took our chips to bring us a refill for the spinach and artichoke dip and didn’t bring them back until well after the entrees arrived. Then we watched as they gave my food to another table, then came over and explained what happened, so I sat and waited while my husband ate his meal, unable to eat my own meal or the appetizer that had grown cold while we waited for chips. We had been trying to get our server’s attention to no avail. They finally brought chips while we waited for my entree.
They eventually brought my meal, which was disappointing after a long wait. I had the BBQ pork with poblano grits and “off the cob” elotes. The pork was WAY overcooked, dry, and tough, and the only flavor it had was the barbecue sauce brushed directly onto it. It looked like they cut up a larger piece of pork and cooked the hell out of it instead of cooking a larger piece properly and then slicing it for plating. The elotes had no flavor (just butter and a whisper of chili powder or smoked paprika), and the grits, while nicely textured, were missing seasoning. Very disappointing. My husband’s burger was delicious, however, and I ended up eating what he didn’t want instead of my own meal.
Directly after the mishap with giving my food away, someone (I assume he was the owner) came to apologize, but we weren’t checked on again until well after we had both finished eating. Our server Christian noticed I hadn’t finished my meal, and asked if there was anything wrong with the food. At that point, the time had well passed for fixing that mistake and I was ready to leave.
Overall, I’m unimpressed with a restaurant so highly rated. Drinks were tasty, and they did have lots of clearly marked items that were gluten free, which was nice, but out of the entire meal only the drinks, spinach and artichoke dip, and my husband’s burger and coffee gelato were possibly worth returning for.
The meal felt festive and thoughtfully put together from start to finish…the “CHOPPED” Oysters Rockefeller were a killer opener, the bacalà fritter had great crunch with just the right kick, and the skate wing piccata in lemon-caper sauce was perfectly cooked. Later courses like the olive oil-poached swordfish and the lobster with gnocchi in a saffron mussel emulsion were rich, balanced, and seriously memorable. Dessert sealed it…panettone bread pudding was the perfect ending.
The wine pairing was legit (not an afterthought), and the service was warm, paced well, and attentive without hovering. One of our favorite spots in Frisco!!!

We tried this new local restaurant for the first time and we were impressed. We got a last minute reservation on Open Table and we arrived early. They were slammed busy but seated us quickly. The mushroom and truffle risotto had a well balanced flavor. The lamb ragu was delicious and had an excellent slow cooked and homemade flavor. Don’t sleep on the Brussels Sprouts starter. Cocktails were also expertly made! We’ll be back!
Put WB’s on your dinner schedule and thank me later!
Such a great experience!
Great service with personable and attentive staff.
Impressive range of wine, cocktails and bourbon/whiskies.
This place has a chilled vibe but backs it up with the highest end food and great weekend specials.
For Frisco this is a true diamond in the rough.
