If you’re looking for great seafood then this is the place. We got the buffet. Everything fried to perfection. The seafood gumbo was on point. The people that were dining in are truly doing things the Cajun way, they take a few minutes to let food settle then get back up for another round of deliciousness!! Im giving the atmosphere 3 stars only because I prefer a little intimacy while dining. This place is perfect for family dining.

This is a fairly new restaurant with potential once they get a flow down. Didn’t get seated so went to bar seating. Another staff member (superior) was too busy talking to the bartender to let her greet us initially. Once the other person left our bartender Amya was fantastic! Her service was top notch and the best part about this place!! The fire grilled chicken was crap honestly. Dry and no flavor. The gumbo was good! (No complaints with that meal). Strawberry daiquiri excellent. I really hoped for more b/c the atmosphere and service by Amya was top notch. The food fell short though.

Dustin was our waiter and did a great job!!!
Most of us had the buffet. It was really good. Fried fish, fried shrimp, shrimp étouffée, seafood gumbo, chicken gumbo, etc. All the food was really really good!

Wow. This place has some mixed reviews but I don’t understand why. This food is legitimately amazing. I get boudon anywhere I go, and the balls here are fantastic.

I ordered the Cajun pasta, my coworkers the ribeye Poboy. Both phenomenal! Both filling with good portions. The pasta even came with veg which is not typical. The seasonings vary with the meal, which means they were actually taylored to the order and not one size fits all. A surprise star was the fries ( more like chips) that tastes like fried catfish ( in the best way).

We were seated before rush, but the waitress and bar tender were top notch on attentiveness and speed.

This place needs more buzz in my opinion. When speaking with the waitress, she mentioned that they’ve been working to improve reviews by listening to customers and frankly it seems to be working.

When I come back into town I am coming back to Charlie’s. Please do the same.

Disappointed to say the least. $60 for the lunch buffet. The buffet had the cheapest option of food I’ve seen since an elementary school cafeteria. There were no clean plates waiting for anyone. Someone had to go tell someone in the kitchen there were none. The chicken, and fish were bland and tasteless. I was disappointed that everything seemingly was unseasoned at all.

– Seafood Gumbo $18.00 — So salty it wasn’t edible even when mixed with rice. The shrimp were really small but that wasn’t so much the problem as the texture. They basically just kind of broke up when you bit into them. Into the garbage.

– NOLA BBQ Shrimp $29.00 — These were nice sized shrimp with a good texture but basically flavorless and were sitting in a bland oil. There’s no reason the shrimp should have been $29.00

– Fried Shrimp PoBoy $17.00 — Edible and okay.
I didn’t care for the way the shrimp were battered but that’s a personal preference. Shrimp reminded me of cheap buffet shrimp but no flavor.

– 2 orders of Bread Pudding $9.00 each — It looked really good and had lots of icing on it and I thought it was going to be amazing. We threw these into the garbage. I can’t really explain the texture of the icing but it was almost a foamy frothy texture that I couldn’t stomach and had zero flavor. The bread pudding itself I just can’t explain it. I basically like all bread pudding and anything, but both orders went into the garbage. $20.00.

I understand restaurants have growing pains and they just opened, but did anyone taste any of these menu items before hand?

$82.00 before tax

This is a huge disappointment. We don’t eat out very much and we thought we’d give it a try because the old Cajun Charlie’s was good. We will not be revisiting and I think customers should be refunded for the food that wasn’t edible.

We stopped for Sunday lunch while traveling through town and it was very good. On Sundays they only do buffet (no ordering from the menu), but it had a great selection of items! We tried fried chicken, fried catfish, chicken and sausage gumbo, chicken and dumplins, Belgium style maple waffles with crispy bacon, white northern beans with cajun sausage, carrot souffle (OMG so good!), biscuits and gravy, fried okra, etc… It was really neat to be able to try so many things, we got full before trying the other half of the selections. Oh, and there’s a salad bar too! We sat outside under the covered patio with our dog and the service was absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend!

The seafood buffet was really disappointing. I remember the original Cajun Charlies had a great reputation when I was little, so I was so hopeful.
And the new trend towards greediness has them charging $2 each for glasses of tap water. REALLY?!?! TAP WATER???? One Positive was the waiter was very attentive and helpful.

This was the most disappointing and nastiest food we have ever had dining out, not to mention expensive. This is no way a five star experience . The food was way over salted. It was so salty our throats were on fire. The old fashioned my husband ordered was not even close. It had no sugar, bitters or water and looked like someone chewed up the fruit and spit it back in the cup. The onion rings were dry and chewy. The ranch was good though and the service was decent but a lot of workers hanging around the hostess area. The place was pretty dead for a Saturday. Don’t waste your money on this overpriced food, if you want their five star experience just go pour some salt down your throat.
